First part interviews Komplex, a producer for Treacherous. Tomorrow will be Jim Gittum, & Sunday Saucy from On One Squad..

Komplex is one of the most talented up and coming music producers around right now. Currently an in-house producer at Treacherous/ Universal, he has worked with the likes of Crooked I, Big Syke (2pac's Thug Life), One-2, Jayo Felony and Knocturnal. You can hear Komplex unique sound on Crooked I's new mixtape Young Boss Vol.2 and also the classic mixtape Highschool Dropout from fellow Treacherous artist, One-2. Also look out for more of his production this year on Crooked I's anticipated debut "Boss Music", Big Sykes "Black Thunder", and Knocturnal's "Book of knoc". Hoodstars.net sat down with the man himself to discuss his history, situation and latest projects .... .... ....

HOODSTARS.NET: For those who don't know, where are you from originally?

KOMPLEX: Originally I was born in Iran and then when I was 2 years old I moved to Sweden. I lived in Sweden for about 8 years, until I was 10 and I came to LA when I was about 10. I'm 21 now, so ive been living here for 11 years.

HOODSTARS.NET: When did you start producing music?

KOMPLEX: First time I started producing music was when I was in high school. I was in a music tech class, I had the same class as One-2. I started making music then.

HOODSTARS.NET: What label are you with?

KOMPLEX: I'm with Treacherous, im an in house producer for Treacherous / Universal.

HOODSTARS.NET: How did you hook up with Treacherous?

KOMPLEX: I got introduced to Treacherous by a friend of mine, he heard me through some talent shows from school and introduced me to Treacherous.

HOODSTARS.NET: Treacherous just got a new studio.....

KOMPLEX: Yeah, about a month ago.

HOODSTARS.NET: Crooked I is currently in there finishing Boss Music...

KOMPLEX: Yeah I think hes putting the finishing touches to the album. Actually im about to go meet him at the studio today, to work on Boss Music.

HOODSTARS.NET: What other projects are you working on?

KOMPLEX: I've been working on One-2's new mixtape, which is called "New Day New Money". It will probably be out April 2006. Putting finishing touches to Crooked I's "Boss Music", working on Big Sykes album. He's an artist at Treacherous too. Also working on Knoc-turnal's album, hes also a Treacherous artist.

HOODSTARS.NET: And you produced on Crooked I's upcoming mixtape Young Boss Vol 2?

KOMPLEX: Yeah I did like 13 tracks on the mixtape.

HOODSTARS.NET: One of them was 'All I Ever Wanted'...

KOMPLEX: Yeah.....

HOODSTARS.NET: Where do you see Treacherous Records in 5 years?

KOMPLEX: Hopefully we've got some hit records out there. Hopefully Treacherous will be the next west coast label. Like the next Death Row, you know?.

HOODSTARS.NET: How much input did you have on Big Sykes album?

KOMPLEX: I produced 4 or 5 tracks on the album. I'm not sure which ones he will actually pick though.

HOODSTARS.NET: Will you be on Crooked I's Life After Death DVD?

KOMPLEX: Yeah, because its coming out with a soundtrack, a DVD soundtrack. I produced on there.

HOODSTARS.NET: Finally do you see One-2's solo album out soon?

KOMPLEX: Yeah, actually were not sure if the album will come out in 2006, probably 2007.
