The Greatest Football moment
« on: February 27, 2006, 06:28:55 AM »
Because there isnt almost any football discions here, this topic.

Whats the greatest football moment to you?

For me personally its when feyenoord achieved theyre greatest  moment. Winning the champions league (europa cup 1 back then) against celtic. They beat celtic in the last moment of the game with a legendary goal.

And another great moment isnt that long ago. Its the incredible comeback liverpool made against ac milan last year. That trully was a legendary game. And if i remember correctly it was also on the same date, when so many people died in belgium. the last time liverpool was in the champions league final.

And of course marco van basten's impossible goal against russia.

your best moment is one of my WORST moments.  >:(

as legendary as being "the 1st british club to win the european cup" and basically just winning it is...

we could and should have won it twice.  :'(

still, we have won it once more than Rangers ever will!   ;D

One of my favorite Moments (might have been 2) was when Zidane scored a freekick and a penalty against Engalnd at Euro 2004 or when my hero Ricardo took his gloves off and saved the penalty against england at 2004. Or when Scotland beat England in the last game at Wembley. Ho ho ho you'll never guess what country i support

For me when Bolton went 2-0 down in the Play off final against reading back in 1996 at wembley then Keith Branagan saved a penalty that wouldnve made it 3-0 and game over...after the save the game completely swung as we fought back with McGinlay, Pattelienen and Fabien DeFreitas all scoring and we ended up promoted for the first time winning 4-3 - What a result ;D

98 and 00 with France winning the world cup and The European championship. Plus when my favorite team ( FC METZ ) finished 2nd in French Championship (with Pires on the team) and only lost the title for this stupid goal average ; FUCK THIS RULE

Norway winning against Brazil in the '98 WC, 2-1, the biggest football-moment for every Norwegian... the 4-2 match against Brazil the year before was fun too, but it was only an unofficial game, so it wasn't nearly as big.

SK Brann winning the Norwegian cup in 2004, that was pretty fuckin' huge for me... also because they were so superior in the final game (4-0)...

Austrheim IL (my local team) promoting to the third division... my father played that game, and they won 3-2 after a goal in the 89th minute, it's one of the most memorable games of my life.

In my lifetime Man Utd scoring two goals in the last min to win the european cup or Beckhams last min free kick against Greece which sent England to the european championship. It was great to see the whole country support beckham after trying to run him out the country after the 98 world cup.

One of mine has to be the last few minutes of last season's league Scotland, when Celtic conceded 2 late goals from Scott McDonald and Rangers won the league, the experience of Easter Road that day was outside
