Is suge knight a good business man
« on: March 05, 2002, 03:32:30 PM »
How good of a business man is suge knight.  A lot of you over rate him an say he is a great business man.  Some of you underate him an say he is a horrible business man.  He dont think he is that great of a business man,  b4 tha death row dick rider jump all over me,  hear me out.  Look at all tha greats he had on death row.  Granted a lot of them would of left to do there own thing even if suge treated them right,  they would of still helped death row out.  Both dre an snoop said they wanna help out death row but cant b/c of tha animosity.  He claims to have discovered all tha artist but he didnt,  that was something dre did.  An look at death row now,  they are struggling to get by an so what if they were in tha news recently.  It was b/c of suge sayin shit,  not b/c of there music,  there has to be a time when u have to let tha music speak for your company instead of your ceo having to say shit in order to stay in peoples heads.  One thing you cant take away from suge is when death row was at its highest no other rap record lable has been able to see that amount of sucess in tha short period of time

Suge Knight is where he is today because of Dr. Dre.  Dre made Death Row.  Dre biult Death Row from the bottom up.  Suge did good things for them as well.  But Dre deserves most the credit.

how good of a buisness man is suge u ask?? well time will tell. what he does with his roster right now will let us know how good of a business man he is.

as far as everyone leaving death row?? they had to plain and simple. that roster was tooo talented to sit around for 9 years waiting on suge. snoop tried he was patient but shit wasnt gettin done. and they was holding him down, i dunno who was responsible for that but everyone would have starved waiting for suge.

suge didnt discover shit!!! he brought danny boy in. but  because warren g persisted that dre hear snoop. snoop brought daz, nate, and kurupt. rbx is snoops cousin, but i think he played football with suge at unlv. u gotta becareful takin what suge says at face value cuz he stretches tha truth

you are absolutely right that tha music is gonna have to speak for itself sooner or later. BUT, this is what separates suge from everyone else and that is publicity. even if the music is tight, you gotta give folks a reason to buy it. and this is what we'll see if suge can do.

i know they got some hungry talent at tha row. time will tell if suge still has it

just wait and see I guess. If he can get the popularity for this current roster, as what he had on the old roster, then yes, he is probably the best businessman in the world. But time will tell, just sit back & watch.

like people said before, it wasnt suge who brought the talent in.  warren g and dre brought snoop and snoop brought nate, daz n kurupt, and the dpg...and wasnt snoop real influential on signin tupac aswell?  so as far as im concerned suge didnt do shit for death row excpet write the checks and piss people off.

snoop did not not bring Kurupt to the label.  Kurupt brought himself by introducing himself to Dre at a party.  Dre said if Kurupt could win a freestyle contest against everyone at the party he would sign Kurupt.  If Kurupt lost he would get thrown in the pool.
