I aint Christian and don't know a whole lot about the Christian rap scene, but of what little I have heard, a group called "Grits" (Gritz?) stood out as pretty good to me. And this one aint rap, but there is an artist named Ernie Troutman (yes he's related to Roger) who makes some outstanding funk music, gospel or not.

i used to be big on christian rap...

'grits' are tight b/c they don't really get too preachy on u...plus they produce quality music...most of that shit is just a gimmick

i thought a few guys from 'cross movement' had some pretty dope rhymes - http://www.crossmovementrecords.com/ - their second album 'the house of representatives' is off the hook. i still listen to it when i get a chance.

dude 'nuwine' was on a geto boys compilation and was probably the most prevalent in southern rap. i never really liked him much...

and this other dude, who i think has got some tight songs but can be a bit too preachy at times - 'lil raskull'

'gospel gangstaz' & 't-bone' are pretty big, i think they're mad corny....

'bruthaz grimm' was pretty sick.

if u check out www.grapetreerecords.com, there's a nice selection. (well, i jsut tried to check it out and it looks like it's out of business by now. i always thought they guy that ran it was crooked....)

Grits is definitely the best thats out there but christian rap will almost never be mainstream accepted unless cats like Kanye,Dre,Jazze Pha or somebody like that got behind it.

Their production is really dope, tho...gospel-infused G-Funk.  I can dig that.

Pigeon John, LMNO, And John Reuben are the only Christian Rappers i liked, Pigeon John And LMNO are kinda swaying away from putting themselves in the christian rap genre, but you can hear it in their lyrics.

a fucked up version of field mob?
are u serious?

i think field mob sucks a dick anyway. grits have been around for more than 10 years now, and i'd say their sound is anything BUT field mob.

but whatever...

yeah, pigeon john and LA symphony are supposedly christian rappers too. it's hard to tell in their records, and i prefer that, i just never really got into them....
