This post is pretty ignorant man, i'm only 18 but feel I know alot about hip-hop as a whole, old to new. Sure I wasn't around when Ra dropped his first shit but you pick up on these things when your tastes grow, ever heard of research? Alot of people have only in the past 2-3 years picked up on 'Pac's music, especially here in the UK & his material has been around for some time now considering. Same goes for N.W.A. & alot of other old skool MC's/groups.

I think Rakim is tight but his last 2 efforts are shorter than short....why ain't people speakin' on this

I hope his shitt...with aftermath is tight...
but I bet yall will find something to blame Dre for...and not Rakim...lol ;)

a yo son.....your posts are mad ignorant #1.........#2 what the fuck do u know bout rakim, i happen to be a big rakim fan and hes my favorite mc of all time.......his last 2 solo projects didnt have the producin and beat-makin as eric b once had.........however both the 18th letter and the master had some serious lyrics......from lyrical content to word play.......and the other thing is r u stupid or somethin, who cares how old some cat is, if thwy wanna cop someones album and listen up on that artist cause someone told them it was dope then thas was up........you got to understand hip-hop is here to stay and it will get passed down from generation to generation which is how young heads kearn from that shit........the other point is every track rakim did wit primo was smokin......so yo stop hatin and try to respect others for their perspectives.....and i guarentee when ra drops "oh my god" that will change the face of hip-hop and bring a higher level to the community and teach people theres more to life than just the bling bling

a yo no disrespect to L.L......but hahaha thas funny how u can even think bout comparin rakim(the god) to L.L.(lday love cool james).......hahaha thats funny as shit........look any real mc or hip-hop fan that knows anythin bout rap or has listen to ra knows he is the greatest ever.......oh and another there hasnt been one to ever dare step to rakim in a battle.......why=they would get eaten up alive.....dont forget ra's like 32 or 33 and jay-z is 35......so ra's got time left for this, and my generation to know who the king of rap was, has, and always will be......until im thru(lol)

Hmm I never recall me saying that LL was better than Rakim. All I said was that I was a hardcore LL fan in '87 when Rakim dropped so I wasn't paying attention to him much until he dropped Let The Rhythm Hit 'Em.

my bad fam.....thas cool im just sayin they sorta came from the same era but in terms of rhymin, they 2 completely diff worlds......actually wouldnt mind seein ra throw a couple oldschool cats on his new album......but only the tight ones...........like kool g rap, L.L., u c when L.L. rhymes bout lyrics and skillz i think hes mad dope, like when he fucked canibus up wit the ripper strikes back......also would love to c rakim do a track wit like black thought, nas, and pharoahmonche....
