Knocturnal will not .............
« on: February 24, 2002, 07:27:19 PM »
Go platinum.

Iam sorry guys, he is an average westcoast rapper and there is nothing special about his album. No song really stands out. I have listened to it a few times and it is tight but it could have been way way better. Plus all this bootlegging shit doesn't help his cause. I predict that if it does go platinum it will take a while.

The best tracks on his album are

LA Confidential
Night and Day
If I Could (Bonus Track)
Bad Intentions

otherwise the rest are ok.

If we talk about promotions... then he can go gold (no platinum. No way! Are you all joking?).

If we talk about quality, he doesnt even deserve to go gold, cause he's just an average rapper.

Btw i dont give a fuck about sales no more. I mean.. Warren G aint even gold and you are saying that this album deserve to go what? Platinum? Ahahahahahah... C'mon!

I disagree with you guys.  I think he'll sell hella well.  I'm from CT and right now everyone I talk 2 is feeling him.  And I know out on the west, mad peeps is feeling him.  So I think he'll see reall well, platinum plus, you wait.  He needs 2 release Nite & Day as his next single/video, that song is sooooo damn hot.

The fact that guys like him doesnt mean he'll sell well.
Warren G got nothing but love, but his album.. nobody bought it. Same with Nate Dogg. Same with underground cats.

Let's face it. If you make videos for MTV.. u'll sell. Snoop is making videos for MTV, so he's selling. Same with Dre (he's working with Snoop & Eminem, the 2 most commercial rappers ever). Same with Knoc (he's working with Dre, and he's making videos for MTV).

P.S.
Night & Day is ok, but nothing incredible.... relax!

You know, before I heard the sampler I didnt really care for Knoc. But I heard the sampler & i thought it was good.

Sure, i dont think it will be anything real mind boggling. He'll probably get between 3 or 4 mics from me.

He has a very unique & different style, & even the beats Dre hooked him up with sound different & unique.

He isnt very marketable or charismatic, but I'm sure he'll AT LEAST go gold, possibly plat, maybe if his real lucky he'll go double

You gotta remember the west is sort of out of flavor with the charts now, look at The Wash, Bones, Eastsidaz, Warren, Nate, Kurupt & Bad Azz. All did less than expected, but if they shit was released in 2000 then all that shit may have gone double, heck maybe over that, in the current sales they have.

Ja Rule, Nelly & Ludacris now rule peoples shit, & I supose you could include Jay Z.

I think the west needs something different & new that could put the spot light back on them. Knoc is something different & unique that aint nobody really seen before, people might dig it & it might help the spotlight get back onto Dre & the west in general.

However, people might not feel his shit & it could flop like The Wash did.
I look forward to his cd. He aint nothin good in terms of rhymes, but the beats sell these days

the only reason Dre and Snoop sell is cuz they are known rappers and they are known to drop some banging cdz. 2001 basically sold cuz word of mouth. If u really want Knoc to sell, just tell all your homiez some lies say "damn this KNoc cd is the best since 2001" and Knoc may go platinum

i dont think that the way an album sells is the way it should be judged as to whether its a good album or not.IMO

It's almost impossible right now for a new rapper to sell well.  The net and bootleggs makes it way to easy to get the album for free, so nobody's buying it.
