kurupt, snoop, cube were all bringing heat.  even though kurupt didn't really shine until a bit later i'd say kurupt in terms of straight lyrical ability, cube made the best songs though.  still i'd pick listening to chronic and doggystyle over cube's first two albums, so i dunno.

Without Cube, NWA made "Niggaz4Life."  Ren most likely wrote most of it.  Then Ren did "Kizz my Black Azz,"  which was also great lyrically.  Dre was also on "Niggaz4Life," eventually he went on to the "Chronic."  Though Dre didnt write as much, hes voice on the mic is like any other.  $hort came with "Shorty the Pimp" and "Get in Where you Fit In," these were both great albums, in which "Get in Where You Fit In" can be considered a classic.
