I think it was a good choice. It coulda' went to Phil, but he obviously wasn't gunna get it, so Avery was a pretty good pick as well. Here's the article:

First full year as an NBA coach and already 60 wins, coach of the western all-star team and NBA coach of the year. And a champion as a player too. What a career.

Yea, and every time I heard him speak, he was talking about how he wasn't satisfied and speaking of ways to improve the team, even after big wins, even when they were on winning streaks...I love that shit, he demands perfection.
