Tupac - Live At The House Of Blues (DVD)

At first glance, some wouldn't expect much out of a Death Row live concert video release. After Tupac's untimely death, Tha Row has been struggling to project the sales they once had in their hey-day. After a remix album, a live album, and another live album (the "Soundtrack" that was released shortly before the DVD), they have released 'Tupac - Live At The House Of Blues.
Marketed as a Tupac release, this DVD (also available in UMD for PSP) features: The Outlawz, K-Ci & JoJo, Nate Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, & Snoop Dogg. The concert starts after an audio only interlude of women fantasizing about 'Pac, as 'Ambitionz Az A Ridah' begins. Tupac is credited with nine songs, as he flows through each track with the passion we all loved from him. Accompanied by K-Ci and JoJo, even when there are technical difficulties cuing up 'How Do U Want It?', 'Pac and the duo try to entertain the fans with some accapella.
As mentioned before, Snoop Dogg & The Dogg Pound are predominately featured on the video also, with almost twice as many songs to their set. Granted you like the rest of Death Row, and don't mind seeing them, they give a spectacular performance also. Watching the dvd, you begin to feel like it is those good ole Death Row days again. Snoop is at the top of his game, ringing through favorites like 'Murder Was The Case', 'The Shiznit', & 'Gin and Juice'. Tha Dogg Pound also bang out album favorites with a preview from a then-scheduled second Death Row album.
Rare glimpses of label owner Suge Knight grooving to the music are shown, as he watches the army he created tear the stage up. Even after the show is over, the cameras continue rolling with Suge embracing both Tupac and Snoop Dogg for a definite Kodak moment. The DVD also comes with bonus music videos for: 'California Love (Remix)', 'To Live & Die In L.A.', 'Hit 'Em Up', 'How Do U Want It? (Concent Version)', and 'I Ain't Mad At Cha'.
THA 'HOOD SAYS:
It was a treat to see the Death Row machine rolling at full force again, and it looks like Tha Row have added a fine video release to their catalog. Ever after many would say, a lackluster series of compilation and post-humous Tupac releases. Even if you weren't a fan of 'Pac or Deathrow, you might enjoy seeing Snoop Dogg 10 years ago, arguably at his best. The packaging and layout of the DVD is presented cleanly, as a collaboration with Eagle Rock Entertainment made this release possible.
HOODSTAR RATING:
(3.5/5.0)

Review's on point.
I bought mainly for the DPG tho' and they didn't disappoint - Snoop is a good performer & Daz is great as his hype man.
Like the way they brought 2Pac back on stage at the end.
