Question about Suga Free's Just Add Water.
« on: May 17, 2006, 03:34:16 PM »
My friend says there is a track that Free disses Quik.  I listened to the whole CD and never heard a thing said about Quik.  Is there really a diss track on there?  Maybe just one line?  I mean Free even thanks Quik in the thanks yous.  So I don't think there is one.

I think Change has some subliminal shots at DJ Quik.
Being a LAKER is a privilige. Unfortunately some "Lakers" have forgotten that.

Quik and Free made up a few months ago, theirs not track on the album though that disses anyone. Anyone got the official album credits, I need to know who produced some of those tracks.

the track that you are asking about was initially called new thangz, but it is titled change on the official release.  like you pointed out, quik is thanked in thank yous section.  the track sounds like it is written to a female, not quik; as well, quik's name is never said in the track.

king brant,
what tracks do you need notes on?

Saccs and J Steez did one beat each.  I think.  I'll have to get the booklet to find out.

Yeah Kenny McCloud did the track with Kokane as well as a few others. Did you know that Suga has Lil ½ Dead on there!? Surprised the hell out of me... :D

anyway, about the Quik diss. There is acutally a line (on #16 "How I Get Down" I think it is) where Suga says "....and look at what DJ Quik did...."something something"" but when you tie it up to what is being said prior and after that, it really doesnt seem like much of a diss because he just kindda goes on using other lines and statements to illustrate his point. So its not really a diss, more like a quick statement or something.
