Goin to IRAN for the first time

anyone been there? i know there are a couple of members from iran on this board, if yall been there i would appreciate if yall could tell me something about how it was, what things there are to do over there, and what cities yall think are worth a visit!

I dunno if it would be the best time to go there right now. But good luck with it. The main city is Tehran and that's pretty much the only place you need to visit to get the grasp of the city life. Unless you want to be adventurous and head out to the ghettos and visit the more authentic places. Shiraz in the south would be a good place to go, it's real rich with history. But other than that, just watch your back at all times. I ain't been there for like 10-11 years, but it's a jungle, so take it easy.

Are you persian? If not, what's the motivation for your visit?

Iran is beautiful, I haven't been there since 2002 though. Like Rod said, the main city is Teheran, the northern part is wealthier, the southern part is very ghetto. If you have the chance to travel around, definitely go to Isfahan aswell.

Yes im persian, but im born in Sweden and i've never had the chance to go there until now, i just recieved my Iranian passport and id that i've been tryin to get for years that is neccessary for me to have to go there.

I have really cool relatives over there that i've been tryin to visit since i was a kid, so im really lookin forward to this. And i've heard that the people are really friendly, and the people in my age are supposed to be real cool to.

But other than that, just watch your back at all times. I ain't been there for like 10-11 years, but it's a jungle, so take it easy.

I've travelled alot for my age (23), and i've been in some countries that are really dangerous to be in(for example el salvador which had a murder rate of 24/day which is alot for a small country), and i've been in some crazy situations so im not really worried that something bad will happen. I will just try to be as humble as possible and try not to get into stupid shit.

i belive im gonna have a real good time, alot of beautiful women, nice places and its gonna be nice to see where my parents grew up n stuff like that.

only negative thing is the weather, june-july is supposed to be their hottest months

i went to Iran 2 or 3 times, last time was in 2000 i think

it was a religious trip though, so can't really tell u the main places n stuff
it was really hot when i went, i started throwin up the second day there (was there for 3 or 4 days); it's a beautiful country though regardless of the heat

As far as friendly goes, if you got some Persian in you, it's all good, no matter where you're from. And if you've been to El Salvador, you won't be finding anything too much crazier, as long as you stay humble, you'll enjoy it.

donīt take pictures anywhere near any military facilites lol. those guys from Sweden got like 3 years coz they had taken pics of themselves infront of a military base. but they couldīve gotten life instead so....

lol yea thats some crazy shit, 3 years for nothing. Same thing happened to one of my teachers around the time when things were bad between iran n irak, he was travelin trough middle-east on a motorbike with a couple of friends, they were just takin pictures n got thrown in jail for 6 months
