What if Dre never mentioned Detox?

Would we still have this much anticipation?

Probably...maybe not as much, but Dre has always mentioned his upcoming album at least 4 years in advance. I first heard about "Detox" in early 2002, when it was rumored to be a 'hip hop musical'. I don't think anyone else but Dre can pull off something like that...making everyone anticipate an album for damn near 5 years and the anticipation seemingly keeps growing.

theres been so many different rumors about Detox.  I just know that whenever it drops it will be amazing and shake up the game again like 2001 did.

Well what's the most of all the anticipation....The production or his rapping?

there definately would be a lot less anticipation.  funny thing is I can remember how anticipated I was for 2001, and always checkin for it, and kept getting pissed when it got delayed.  This was back when I first started checkin out rap news on the net, so I was new to all those sites like death row untouchable, and snoops dogghouse and shit.

Now, I pretty much have no anticipation for Detox pretty much at all.  Don't get me wrong, I will definately check it out, and I'm not doubting dre, and I will very stoked to hear it for the first time, but right now I don't care at all.  I think a few years ago when news first leaked about it, I think then I anticipated it a lot more than I do now.  but now I just can't get excited about it because I never know when it will drop, and at this point there is a possiblity that it won't ever drop.  I don't ever take any tidbit of news about the album seriously anymore, I just prettymuch don't believe anything.

There is only one thing that I care about the album, and that is that there is not 1 gunit spot on the album.

I'm anticapating both. I'm wondering what Dre has to talk about (or his writers, but they are still coming out of his mouth) on this album. Of course the production is going to be the main factor, but you need some solid lyrics to compliment it.

Well with all these westcoast artists coming out with albums this year I know he won't drop it this year. Man Dre works very sloooww, hopefully Detox will actually drop someday, not that I'm impatient but I just want to hear what this man has to say after all these years...

LOL!! But yea in comparison to all the rap thats out now, Detox should be a breath of fresh air. Im thinking November 2007 as the release for this one. But Game and Bishop's album should give us a hint as to where he is going hopefully..

Bishop Lamont's album is coming out after Detox, so you'll have to rely on Game's album to give you a hint.
