Just got back from the DJ Quik Show on Sunset HOB

Went with sikotic aka brandon john. It was pretty sick but it could have been a lot better, Quik was pretty irritated and frustrated through out the show and I would be too with all the shit that was goin on. In the end he got pretty moody but whatever, he had a lot of ups and downs through his show. One of the highlights was when he performed "Speed" for the first time live. oh yeah im pretty much deaf right now, actually no i have a ringing in my eahhhh, oh and this one girl who worked there giving out shots through out the crowd was so hotttt we almost just kidnapped her and left instead of stickin around

Well there were problems with the mics all night. At one point the music went out. He had too many muthafuckas on stage, he only needed AMG and KK. K-Ci and Devante from Jodeci were shitfaced and interrupting Quik in the middle of his songs. Too many muthafuckas were fighting in the crowd. Crips or crip wanna-be's, were throwing shit at Quik from the front row......Oh, and some dude that wasn't needed on stage brought a gang of bitches (most nasty) on stage to get in Quik's way. Only respectable people tonight were B-Real and Flava Flav cuz he was only eatin ribs on stage.

So now you could understand why he was probably pissed. I went to a show of his last year when he only had one hype man and it was off the chain. It's too bad so many things went wrong this time around. Quik said he's goin on vacay until 2007 and talking about never doing the HOB again

That sucks...both for Quik but for the audience too.
I watched his Visualism DVD just yesterday in which he said he LOVES performing at the HOB, because the atmosphere is always so intimate.

He was probably just mad when he said he'd never go to the HOB anymore.
Since chances are small he'll ever tour Europe (his fanbanse just ain't big enough I guess...although on the other hand, there are plenty of underground artists who perform here too, so that shouldn't be a problem) I'm hopping on a flight to Los Angeles if there's another Quik concert as soon as I'm graduated

i went to quiks show on June 14 where the live band was supposed to be there but they werent..what the fuck!
other than that it was alright some guests that night were xzibit, krondon, phil the agony, mitchy slick, talib kweli, jelly roll, kk, amg, slip capone, and r&b singer karl thomas, think that was it...

I went to the Anaheim one on the 15th, and it was great.  There wern't a lot of guests, just AMG, Slip Capone, and a hype man.  We all had a great time though, and I know Quik did too.

This was supposedly different from the other shows on his tour. It was billed "The Old Skool Set" but he still did shit like "Trouble", "Black Mercedes", and "Fandango" lol. Last time the song selections were much better, but fuck it, it's a Quik show and he never disappoints.

Anybody goin' to tha Dogg Pound show next Wednesday?
