Artist not normally associated with the West Coast
« on: January 25, 2002, 04:08:37 AM »
I've been trying to rack my brain to see what west coast artists we don't normally associate with being from the left side.

1 ) Cypress Hill
2 ) Dilated Peoples

I got more.. but I don't wanna use em all up ;)

A couple months ago... I was only really into West Coast Gangsta Rap... It kinda started getting boring though... you know, after years and years of listening to it, and having to keep listening to the same cd's cuz that Gangsta Shit kinda died down... I started getting into the whole underground MC type of shit.... Even though I listen to some East Coast now.. I tried to keep it West Coast. I'm down with that whole West Coast underground Movement shit... I think that's tight.

Rappers like the ones I named above and some of the ones you all named, Cali Agents, Heirogliphics, Likwit Crew, Mad Lib, Dilated, Dj Revolution, Declaime, Freestyle Fellowship, The Last Kind, Lexicon, Swollen Members, Lootpack...

It's all good. I can't really get into all that shit though... It's still Gangsta Rap in my roots... and sometimes that underground shit is too complicated.. sometimes you just wanna kick back and get high... that's when it's time to pop The Chronic back into the tape deck.

I be one of those tall skinny cats with the four-nine
Three-eleven that rips through Power-U's and breaks spines
I culture power-tuggin' boys who be drunk, buggin'
Lovin' loud noise from toys, club thuggin'
Sweet chocolate deluxe, rugged, sexy buttercup
That don't give a fuck about the cop in the club
RZA in DO U
