It might have a bigger harddisk and just more extras. The cheaper version definitely doesn´t miss the blu ray player. If it would then you couldn´t play a single ps3 game. Would be funny though. I bet a lot of people would fall for that. lol


Don´t wanna talk bad about the ps3 but right now I don´t see a single reason to get one. Like Black_Smoke and others already said, you can get a 360 AND a Wii for the price of a PS3. Even if you´re a die hard Sony fan then I think you should wait some time cause a) the price will drop and b) possible hardware problems could be resolved. Remember the first wave of PS2? Don´t know if that was a global problem but a few of my friends whou got the ps2 on release day experienced some problems with the dvd player. DVD was a new medium back then, if I´m not mistaken, and you could see it. After some time the player just didn´t read the discs properly. I was under the impression that more people had similar problems and that it was an known "first generation" problem.

Yea but mine started having the disc reading problems like 2 years after I got it on the first day. then I opened the shit and cleaned the thing that reads the discs and worked again, for like 8 or 9 months. then just gotta new one. Ima buy it anyway, Ima die hard playstation person, I got out of nintendo after the super nintendo didnt like the nintendo 64. Then it was Playstation from there.

The differences between the two versions are basically the size of the hdd.

The cheap one comes with 20GB and the expensive one comes with 60GB plus a HDMI interface and MemoryStick/SD/Compact FLash I/O devices.
