Nintendo Wii - How good is this looking?

Could someone finally please tell me if the Wii supports 5.1 sound or not??

I don't know for sure, but I doubt it.  Nintendo's not that concerned with making their system hi-tech.  It'll probably just have regular a/v outs and super video or something.

And I don't consider it hi-tech, more like a standard feature to me hope you're wrong about this...

this is what some dude said bout it:
It is using Pro-Logic II. While not as clear as DD or DTS, it still sounds good for all the games that used it on the Cube. Rebel Strike was amazing on my system. Not as loud as the SW movies, but it was better than good enough for my ears playing the game.

the first one is the one used to play wii games and the 2nd one is the controller to play the Virtual console games (NES,SNES,N64 etc)

u might wanna take a look at the 360 too,cuz the wii is gonna be really different compared to the ps3 and 360, look at it like this: should i get a 360 and wii (for the same price of the ps3) or a ps3,i dont see how ppl can pick the ps3 over both the wii and 360...

The PS3 is gonna cost around £420 in the UK. I don't think anyone can justify spending that much on a console with no games to start you off.

u might wanna take a look at the 360 too,cuz the wii is gonna be really different compared to the ps3 and 360, look at it like this: should i get a 360 and wii (for the same price of the ps3) or a ps3,i dont see how ppl can pick the ps3 over both the wii and 360...

thats a very good point just Im not interested in a 360 at all so..

You could buy like a Wii and half the launch games for the price of a PS3 with no games.

To be honest Dolby Surround isn't cutting it for me anymore... Damn what a waste...

^ If you're concerned about things like that, you'd be much better off buying a 360 or ps3... it's more aimed at someone interested in high-end electronics.  The wii is aimed at people more concerned with creativity and the entertainment factor, the ps3 and 360 focus more on elite gamers who prefer technologically advanced games.

Well I already have both the old Xbox and the 360 and I'm still thinking of getting the PS3 (Tekken)...

It's just that I'm a little bit dissapointed with the Wii not supporting 5.1 sound cause IMO that adds so much more to the gaming experience but I would definitely consider buying it if a new Star Wars Rogue Squadron game will be released for it, 5.1 sound or not...
