Great track, one of my favourite storch beats, but dre didn't mix it
I was listening to "Tha Last Meal" recently for the first time in a while, and this song REALLY caught my attention for the first time. In the past, I don't remember getting particularly excited about it, but when I listened to the track this time...DAMN, I really think that song could have been a huge single! Eve rips it, Snoop does his thing, and the instrumental has got to be my favourite Storch beat ever. I could really picture the track banging in the clubs. No surprises that Dr. Dre mixed it down - it's got his signature sound all over it. Only complaints (and these are minor quibbles) are the amount of talking at the end (Snoop should have dropped another verse!) and the chorus is lacking a little something. They messed up on "Tha Last Meal" singles. "Lay Low" was a dope track but, Dre production or not, I wasn't shocked to see that it didn't perform amazingly on a commercial level - not exactly crossover material. If they had replaced "Lay Low" and "Losin' Control" with "Ready 2 Ryde" and "Issues" or "Hennesey N' Buddah" I think the album could have sold a significant amount more.Anyone agree/disagree?
