Suga Free "Just Add Water" Album
« on: August 05, 2006, 09:37:17 PM »
So I done had Suga Free's new album for about 2 weeks now. I had been bumpin it in moderation since then just cuz Quik wasn't on it. Last Saturday I was knockin that shit when I got pulled over and went to CJ. When I got out, that record was still in my cd and I gotta say I slept on it for a minute. JUST ADD WATER IS THAT SHIT!!!! "The Ranger" and "Boyfriend" shits on every song out now. They need to up the promo on this album. They mos def chose the wrong single! And there are a few tracks that I skip, maybe it could've been a lil shorter, but hell it's 25 tracks!!!!

Alright that's my blog for the day....

I wasn't crazy about that album. It was alright. My fav track is defanitely U Ain't Knowin' Feat. Knoc-Turn'al. The beat was amazing, Knoc came thru with a nice hook, and Free was tight on it 2.

This album is amazing. The problem with it is, 25 tracks, too many skits, and theirs maybe 4 wack songs. But some of these tracks are classics. It only sold like 10,000 copies lol Also, theirs no direction to the album unlike New testement/street gospel, its just 20 good tracks stuck together on an album.

^ Its a very random CD, theirs skits/intros in the middle of the CD and most are only 10 seconds long.

the album sucks ass. suga free needs to hook back up with Dj Quik fo real. im sure this album flopped pretty hard.  his songs were not on the radio at all. i remember his previous albums all had songs on the radio but not with this one. i didn't know it was out untill i hit tower records 2 weeks after its release. no promo, no radio, no quik - = horrible album.

for the sake of his fans, he needs to get back with quik asap.

Well the album definately wasnt strong enough to carry 25 tracks, maybe due to the lack of overall direction like some said^^

But I still think it's a must-have...there are 10+ songs easy on there that I like, and hey thats not bad 8)

there were a lot of fillers, but some keepers on there

without Quik you kinda gotta lower expectations, and that's what I did

some of the tracks are real cool, and others are just throwaways

This shit sounded like Suga Free changed his style up a lot. I don't know there's something about this album I don't like. It definetly has some good songs though.

the thing is, all the the songs would be dope if he rapped more and held back on some extremely poor and weak guest appearances

that's the only thing that ruins it for me... and the guest appearances on some tracks seem to do more vocals than he does

that kinda shit just gets annoying
