Up next for USA Basketball is a trip to Sapporo, Japan for the preliminary round of the FIBA World Championship on August 19th. Team USA, which beat Puerto Rico by 45, China by 46, Brazil by 4, Lithuania by 23, and Korea by 53 will take on Puerto Rico on Saturday (1 a.m. ET, ESPN2).

^^^^ They should had face stonger opponents than these teams imo ( Lithuania roster doesn't include like 4 of their best players) to know how they look against top European teams.. anyway I watched all these games and this team seems a lot better than the 02 and 04 ones. I think it's gonna be a interesting WC

USA met Puerto Rico and China... Slovenia and Italy games should be a good indicator of their real level against "good " teams before playing the top teams like Argentina, Spain and Greece

I think the US is looking a lot better than last time, no doubt, but they are vulnerable as Italy proved today. They don't dominate like in 1992 or 1996 and never will again, but they have a great chance of winning the tournament. Argentina, Spain... those teams can take 'em.
