But the margins of people who actually see movies are much smaller than that...you're just being naively idealistic if you think 80 million blacks and eses (or even 10 million) would all go see any movie.  Just like you could never expect a large percentage of white people to see something like "Elizabethtown", but the numbers of them are large enough that the overall margin is still bigger.  It'll always be ironic to me that the only type of entertainment that brings races together is violent entertainment, but hey, that's good 'ol American culture for ya.

I think Idlewild is doing well for it's first week and the above post showing it outselling other movies where it played proves it.

I can't wait to see the movie and the 2 music videos from the soundtrack were amazing.  I showed the Idlewild Blues one to my mom and she loved it.

Ain't nobody saying what you can or can't watch...I'm simply saying that white people in general don't like movies that are "too black".  That ain't retarded; it's the truth, dun.  You can say all you want about your moms or whatever, but I know what experiences I've had with white people.  I went to see "The Honeymooners" on its opening weekend and there were about 10 people there, 9 black and 1 Latino, no whites.  When I was in college, I could never take my white girlfriend to see movies like "Love Jones"; she was always insisting we see stuff like "Can't Hardly Wait".  And whenever I had white people in my car, they would always get upset if I played Jodeci or Montell Jordan, but not Snoop Dogg or 2Pac.

So play retarded all you want, but I've had enough experiences with white people's tastes that I know they don't like anything they perceive as "too black".
