Why I wont buy Madden 07

Because EA sports did some maneuvering around the video game industry and made a deal with the NFL so that EA is the only company that can use NFL teams. Doing this allowed them to cut the throat of fan favorites like "NFL Blitz" and Madden's closest competition "NFL 2k". To me this is shady. Are'nt monopolies against the law in the U.S.? Should'nt we have a choice?

Very smart move. I dont play anything else besides Madden so it dont really matter to me, sorry to those who dont play madden and play blitz or 2k.

Anyway, this is old news.  It's a shame since NFL 2k series was pretty bad ass and played much better than Madden.  Madden's franchise mode topped it though.

The first 2 Blitz games were the only ones i liked. The only times i chose 2k over Madden was in the Dreamcast days. The last few years the Madden games have been crazy.

I'm with Sinattra.  Madden can now skimp on many features without any fear because there is no competition in their market.  For instance, I'm pretty sure there is no fantasy draft on '07.  That was some of my favorite shit in years past because I loved building my own team from scratch.  I fucked around on 07 the other day at my boys house- i started that superstar mode.  The initial part of it was pretty dope - choosing your parents, agents, answering reporters, and training.  But then going thru practice was mostly wack.  Then, in games, your guy might not play so you actually SIT there and watch the game play while you do nothing.  Even if you're a starter, you only play one side of the ball so you're inevitably watching a simulation HALF THE TIME AT BEST! In theory it sounds cool, but I can't imagine playing season after season this way.

It's no doubt a smart move by EA to eliminate competition, but it's ultimately the consumer that gets fucked.  So in closing, Fuck Madden 07.

The last NFL 2K game released was superior in gameplay.  The running game was perfect in that game.  The only downfall was the superman like tackles.
