Party music is hella prevalent right now, but he can't act like it hasn't always been a major driving force...even though it is a lot more now than it used to be. I think Cube is talking about the QUALITY of the music that is coming out. You guys can clown if you want but We Be Clubbin is still the shit, Cash Over Ass and LDB was bangin too. Cube's lyrical content on those songs is light years ahead of this Its Going Down bs on the radio now.

why so upset?  i ask that because he had lil jon produce his albums, and lil jon is one of the main dudes that got crunk into the mainstream.
and hyphy, its a west coast orgin.  why would he be knockin that if we tryin to bring cali in the mainstream(also he was in a remix, "tell me when to go")

1. Of course he's guilty of exactly what he's criticising.
2. What he's criticising, there's nothing wrong with.  If people want to make booty music, make booty music.  Ice Cube does not own the music industry, anybody and everybody can make music about whatever they want.
3. He says he doesn't want to be commercial, yet launches multi-million dollar ad campaigns to promote his albums.  He films videos.  He's a movie star.  Come on.  He would *LOVE* to be more commercial.
4. He wants to put music back in the hands of the people that love it.  What?  13 year old girls love booty music.  So we're going to take the music away from them, right?  LOL The more commercial music is, the broader it's appeal, it's simpl arithmatic.  Ice Cube went to college, he knows math.  He wants to please the people but wants the music to be less commercial.

please.  He's obviously saying it so all the little idiots like those on this thread who think that they're different than anybody else will be attracted to his albums.  NEWSFLASH we're  all nearly identical and even fucking chimpanzees are 98 percent human.  You're not an individual just because you like something that 'isn't commercial', in fact, EVERYBODY likes something that 'isn't commercial' therefore making it EXACTLY commercial.

LOL at everybody trippin on Cube.  I read it that all he is saying is that the political / conscious raps are not on display as prevalently as they used to be.  I don't think he's necessarily hating the music in and of itself, moreso the fact that anything that doesn't fit that mold doesn't get exposed to the masses in the same way.
