The latest antics from our favorite head-case, Brian Wilson

So, Brian's been hinting around for months that he's recording 'the greatest rock and roll album of all time' (his words)... yesterday, he gave an interview and told a friend of his that he's been working 4 hours a day 3 or 4 times a week with his friend Scotty Bennett on a new album.  Nobody else.  Just him, producing, and writing, and Scotty recording most of the music, with Brian playing piano and bass and such.  LOL  I've never seen somebody do such strange shit.  Apparently he feels comfortable around this guy so now him and Brian go to the studio every day or two and record entire fucking tracks with the two of them layering all the harmonies together and playing all the instruments... He's done this about 4 times in his life, and each time the album was incredibly interesting, sometimes it was incredibly good, most notably the unbelievably strange Beach Boys "Love You" album from 1976.

Songs include
"Oxygen To The Brain,"
"I'm Goin' Home,"
"A Message Man,"
"Wonderin' What You're Up To Now,"
"What Love Can Do," *(he wrote this with Burt Bacharach 2 months ago)
and a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Proud Mary."

It's notable that he's been recording this version of Proud Mary for at least 30 years.  He wrote a piano riff in the 60's that he's rolled into several songs, most notably about 10 unreleased versions of "Proud Mary".  It looks like he might finally get the song finished, lol.

He's also written a song in spanish and sings half of it that way on the new album.  ?  I don't even think he knows spanish.   This is the same guy, though, that wrote "California Girls" and handed out sheet music to all the studio musicians even though he didn't know how to notate music; somehow he pulled it off for the 1 session.  Crazy shit.

No, Brian Wilson is one of the most talented musicians of all time, and his insanity is typically self-destructive and not harmful to those around him.  Bryan on the other hand is trying to bomb people.  Two TOTALLY different people here.
