Stick with me on this one.  For one, I pretty much don't even check for west coast artists anymore, and its a goddamn shame, cuz west coast cats have dropped some of the best hiphop ever. 

Dub's flow is UNFUKWITABLE!!!  Do half you motherfuckers know what constitutes an ill flow?  An ill flow means dropping your lyrics in accordance with the flow being dropped.  It's a beat in itself.  For some reason, cats think it's dope to flow off the beat.  That's what's in style today.  Well, IMO that is BULLSHIT.  Cat's don't know how to ride a beat these days.  Listen to Dub, especially anything he did on Crazy Toones mixtape.  He disects those fuckin beats - his rap cadence is not fucked with by anybody on the west right now!

He's also done the impossible, and IMPROVED with age!!!  His lyrics are poignant, and his delivery is pure evil.  He attacks those beats, and just his swagger when he spits lets you know he's not to be fucked with.

He's never sold out and made bullshit pop tracks.  His biggest mainstream hit is probably "The Streets"  which was basically pledging his allegiance to hard raps.  He's not doing lovey dovey bullshit tracks, not checking the hot producer flavor of the week joints like the other "West Coast Dons" are doing.  Dub's doing Dub and thats it.

And I'll tell you what's the true test:  Again, listen to Crazy Toones mixtape - Dub is all over that motherfucker and he wrecks EVERY FUCKIN VERSE HE DROPS!!!!  He outshines SNOOP, CUBE, X to the Z, every mother fucker on there!

Dub's album will be the ONE west coast album that I will PURCHASE sight unseen (unheard).  Everybody needs to give Dub his just dues, and support a REAL west coast MC who refuses to sell his soul!

WC is on top of his game right now, I really believe that he could drop one of the hottest albums in the last years, should he work with the same formula as on Crazy Toones tape. 12-14 tracks, a few features from Cube, Maylay, King Tee and Xzibit and the rest raw spit from the Dub.

No arguments over here, cuz I agree with everthing except that the song with 'Case' on the "Ghetto Heisman" called "Flirt" was a bullshyt pop tracc that failed horrible as a second single...Other than that, Dub brings it almost everytime I hear him altough "Ghetto Heisman" was a huge dissapointment and makes for a nice frisbee, Dub and Dj Quik are the only albums I would ever BUY without ever hearing a single off it

Damn, good points made. I listen to that first track on DJ Crazy Toones mixtape, the one wtih the mobb deep beat and damn does Dub rip that track in half.

Although claiming Crip halfway through his rap career is suspect, he never went Hollywood, he has kept it ghetto his whole career. You have to give him props for that.

I don't think he's the best but he's one of the best, that's for sure, and he's dropped classic albums while some of the west's best lyricists have yet to drop a real album.

I would say WC and DJ Quik are the only hip hop artists that have actually gotten better as they've gotten older.

The craziest flow WC did is on this song with MC REN and Ice Cube... he was flowing so fast/crazy that i didnt even understand wtf he was saying but it was tight as hell (it was on ghetto heismen)

Old news, dun.  Dub is an MC's MC in almost every sense of the word, one of the few such artists in the West these days.  He brings the mic charisma of a quality old school artist to West Coast gangsta lyrics.

He already admitted in that interview with Alonso Alexander that he never repped the turf as a young'un.  Just does it to sell records.

Psh..I'd respect the arguement if it was Yuk and maybe X.  They've been in the game a while, and can still spit nice.  Both have been on some CLASSIC SHIT.  The rest of those cats aren't classed up to Dub's level.  I don't give a fuck what anybody says, the beats made The Documentary, not the lyrics.  Game has come nice on mixtapes, but was pretty boring on his actual album.  The rest of those cats don't have Dub's track record.  They got a lot to accomplish before I'd take that comparison.
