I think the league will be tight this season.  Teams like Hearts and Hibs are able to take points of the Old Firm which could make things a bit more close e.g. Hearts beating Celtic 2-1 and Hibs beating Rangers 2-1.  Plus, I believe Rangers will improve once Paul Le Guen gets to grips with the Scottish game and which players are going to try hard for him.  I thought Celtic were going to do poorly last season around this time when they had been put of the Champions League by Artmedia Bratislava then lost to Rangers at Ibrox 3-1 but they came back and won the league by about 20 points.  Only time will tell I suppose and we'll find out who's the champions in May 2007.

Deli do you still HONESTLY think Rangers are good enough to win the league?
Even tho we are 7 points clear now?

Yes I still do think that we (Rangers) can win league title number 52 this season

i've still to see anything to suggest that Celtic are a team that are streets ahead of the other teams in the league

still 3 old firm games to play in the league - 9 points there for us to take off you  :P

Took you a bit of time to reply eh pal! Mourning?

9 point to take off us? lol... i can guarantee that rangers will not take 3 points at parkhead..

You's will be lucky to win at home to be honest!

I know you are trying to put a brave face on it, but you know and i know... celtic will win the league this year...
You just have to deal with it im afraid!

When rangers wer a better team than us, i could always admit it!

I stayed away from the board when I got back from the game then decided it would be better to go to the pub to forget about it lol, honest I haven't been hiding :P

We will beat you at Ibrox I have no doubts about this

Hionestly I don't think that celtic are a better team, if you were I would admit it, I think that we are having a poor time at the moment, but at the start of the season we played some of the best football I have seen us play since Dick Advocaat was in charge, and I have confidence that PLG will turn us around,

On a sidenote in PLG's first season as manager of Lyon he only took 11 points from the opening 8 games and won the league, so we are 1 point ahead in his first season with Rangers

Who would have thought on the morning of 22nd May 2005 that Celtic would have been runners up (after being 2 points clear) and the helicopter would be on the way to Easter Road to present Rangers with their 51st league title that day? Thats why its too early to say that this league is over ;) :P

Since there isn't a post up regarding the latest old firm game, due to Rangers winning no doubt :P

I thought that I would bring up this post especially for the guarantee quote

Yes 9 points looks unlikely but we've taken 4 from the 6 available and could get 7

I know that its far too late and we have been shocking this season and that Celtic are going to win the league in a couple of weeks, we were poor again in the first half on Sunday and rode our luck a little but we have taken 3 points from the game that i'm sure no Celtic fan would have expected and that most Rangers fans would only have hoped for

Smith is doing a solid job at rebuilding the squad and we seem to have some fight and spirit in the camp at last

I'm awaiting the reply of a stone wall penalty being denied but hey you get decisions in some games and some games you don't, perhaps Dougall didn't want to upset the fans ;)

^^ All you will hear from me is that we shoulda been about 3 or 4 up at half-time.

Kenny Miller is not good enough to wear the Celtic jersey.

Our second half performance was poor but when Ugo scored we shoulda been defending a lead not chasing an equaliser.

I have never understood why both the Scottish media and some Celtic fans have been praising & building Kenny Miller up he is nothing more than an average player IMO

We were very lucky to go in at half time with the score at 0-0 and no doubt the players took a lot of heart from riding their luck, after we scored the heads seemed to go down in the Celtic team

Thought that Boruc was shocking for the goal then almost made another clanger soon after it when he spilled a Charlie Adam free kick

LMAO at you bringing this back!!

I could go through your posts with a fine-tooth comb also!

I think before the game you would have found it hard to disagree that a celtic win was not gaurenteed....

we have taken 3 points from the game that i'm sure no Celtic fan would have expected and that most Rangers fans would only have hoped for

I think the Milan game took alot out of us, and in fairness we shoulda had the game finished with in the first half!

Rangers are still miles behind Celtic, and i think this old firm may have papered up some of the cracks!

Rangers did not win the game on sun, Celtic threw it away due to several missed chances and a mistake from boruc..

We could reply that game 100 times and i believe Celtic would come out on top 95% of the time!

When i look at the rangers team, i am not worried.. Celtic are simply too strong and Walter has alot of work to do for next season...

He needs to be given money to spend or its going to be another easy title for Celtic.

To be honest tho, I wasn't hugely upset or concerned by the game!! All that matters is....

WE'VE WON THE LEAGUE AGAIN... FLY THE FLAG!!! FTQ

When I seen that statement the first time I thought to myself that I would have to respond to it if we were to win at Parkhead this season, all I was doing was proving that you can't guarantee anything, especially an old firm game  :P

I'm not saying that this is us turning the corner as we have a lot of distance to go, it proves that you's are not this great team that just needs to turn up IMO

The AC game that you's played may have taken it out of you's but thats not a great excuse as we played a game the following day [yeah it wasn't 120 minutes and they weren't the best team around] but these are pro footballers who should be able to play 2 days in 4 days

An old firm defeat always hurts ;) yeah you shall win the league this season & congratulations on that, but your still playing catch up with regards to league titles :P

Walter has a decent record against Celtic and I hope that this continues even though I still believe that he isn't the right man for the job

I still believe that he isn't the right man for the job

What makes you think this?? I thought he was a great choice and feel that he will do far better than any foreign manager that rangers could of brought in!

Do most rangers fans think like that?

I'm just wondering becos from a Celtic fans point of view id of rather he stayed at Scotland.

I see it as a step backwards, IMO Walter Smith's time was up in the mid 1990's, with the players we had we should have done better than we did and I don't just mean getting the 10

Tactically I don't think that Walter Smith is the man to take us forward, under WS first time round we played some poor football plus got beat in Europe by some very average teams and thumped by some good teams, we relied an awful lot on Laudrup, Goram, Gascoigne, McCoist etc and we don't have these calibre of players now

I know a lot of Rangers fans who think that we should have made another appointment and not brought Walter Smith back.  The good part of the appointment was Kenny McDowell who has a great name as a coach after what he achieved with Celtics reserve/U19/U21 teams and he & Ally McCoist could be a main reason of Walter doing well.  I wouldn't be shocked if Walter Smith wasn't in charge any longer than the end of next season with him moving to a general manager type role

Even the Scotland team under Walter never played great football we were just harder to break down and relied on set-pieces, I know that football is a results driven business and the most important thing but for the amount that us fans pays we wouldn't mind being entertained every so often

Papering over the cracks describes it perfectly m8. Look at their central defense, Ugo and Weir? Talk about short term solutions. Rangers dont have the pull, or the finances to attract big names anymore. They sold their best player of the season so far (clement) and brought in a replacement not nearly as talented (thomson).

Off topic a little, but does anyone have a clue how Rangers fans sputed complete and utter sickening bile at almost every opportunity on sunday, called the first minster of Scotland's wife a "whore", singin songs about the Celtic fan who died in Milan, racially abusing one of celtics players and STILL its Neil Lennon throwing a bottle at a empty dugout that gets the front page......Remember when that idiot made the plane gestures to Reyna, there was absolute outcry in the rags, Celtics name dragged through the mud for weeks. NOw that was one person, but when 6, 000 rangers fans do it, not a word is said? Scottish media is a disgrace. Rangers are a disgrace.

You don't want to start asking what club is a disgrace and as for the songs don't get me started

Dambusters - the song from a movie regarding bombing in Germany, haven't we a German goalkeeper on our book who takes no offense at this?

someones wife's a 'whore' song c'mon songs like that have been sung for years about peoples wives by clubs all over the world.  The first minister (Joke) isn't the number one person with Rangers fans

If and I don't know if it happened about the fan who died in Milan then that is wrong and I know that it didn't come from the whole Rangers end

Did we sing about Celtic Boys Club this time? We usually do would you care to explain that to everyone?

Scottish media are a disgrace yeah your right about that, its all one way with them and you celtic fans get off with much more than us, there was a campaign to stop Hello Hello being sung, there are claims that 'The Bouncy' is sectarian, that we resemble a Nuremberg rally by waving the union flags (how thats possible I don't know) plus many more things ongoing

Why was a bottle hitting the window in Villarreal major news in Scotland last year, and this year last week even a bottle hitting the Milan bus only being little news?

Thats the 'Daily Ranger' for you DC, you wont see me buying that piece of shit!

So do you think that they didnt have a right to run a campaign to stop hello hello being sung?

I honestly do feel there is a high % of rangers fans who are racist (obv not all) - i think that needs to be addressed!

The Daily Rebel is what Rangers fans call the same paper and there has been a boycott on this paper for a good few years now by Rangers on it due to its constant 'stories'

How can other clubs sing Hello Hello then? We should be allowed to sing the offical version of the song and not the version that has been changed which happens at other clubs not just ours, what I find ironic though is that the part of the song that we have been banned for is don't celtic fans use the word on a banner  ???

There is not a hiigh % of Rangers fans being racist IMO its a minority and its something that all clubs have including yourselves, one of the worst racist incidents I have ever seen happened at Parkhead when Mark Walters made his debut and yes you's don't have the same element now as what you's did then but celtic fans aren't perfect

HOw do you explain the "red hand" (nazi) salutes in Israel? Undeniable huge section of the rangers end doing it there. Listen m8, i was in a crowded pb and i could clearly hear "whats that running ovr a tim, a taxi"...They were trying to unfurl a a big jock knew banner until a steward stopped it. fact. Iv got a m8 who was there who confirms it. How can u defend the racial abuse of one of our players? And further more how can u defend the daily retard not even mentioning it?....Yet again, riot poice are forced to intervene last night in Spain. NOt long bfore a ban in urope i thik, trouble everytime garunteed.

The bouncy is a song about a crowd of rangrs fans jumpng on a young celtic fans head repeatedly. fact.
