Poll: Funnier Latino Comic

These two have been in a feud which Lopez claims Mencia steals his material, and he claims to have punched him out. This feud has been going on for over a year, so I figured why not ask. I'm surprised I didn't ask sooner.

I vote for George Lopez, he's a way better comedian.  Carlos Mencia relies too much on "shock" factor.  Most of his jokes are known stereotypes that are just recycled for his set.  On the other hand, George Lopez stand up material was universal although a few of his jokes were said in spanish the majority of his sets are still universal.

In a 2005 interview by Howard Stern, comedian George Lopez claimed that he and Mencia were involved in a physical altercation at a comedy club. Lopez alleged that Mencia appropriated 13 minutes of Lopez's material, without permission, for Mencia's HBO comedy special. Lopez told Stern, "It's not really a feud, I mean, I think I won."Shortly afterwards, comedian Joe Rogan wrote a post on his website publicly accusing Mencia of being a plagiarist, alleging that Mencia stole jokes from a number of comedians.

Mencia responded to the accusations while being interviewed on Tucson's The Frank Show, stating that Joe Rogan had fabricated these allegations out of jealousy. On his own website, Mencia denied accusations of plagiarism, arguing that the material in question was too generic to be attributed to any single comedian.

A slide show on the Maxim Magazine web site recently named Mencia as the 12th worst comedian of all time, although television viewers themselves had voted him into 2nd place of the top 25 stand up comics in Comedy Central's 2006 "Stand Up Showdown".

I still gotta go with Geoge Lopez. His stand-up is way funnier IMO.

Ned is funny too, don't get me wrong, but he's like those generic black comedians on shows like Comic View where their whole act is black/white comparisons, except his is mexican/black/white. Next time he's at the Comedy Store or Laugh Factory, I'm gonna go check him out.
