Songs That Make You Emotional?
« on: December 12, 2001, 10:29:32 AM »
I think one of the best ways to test a song is if it brings out your emotions.  I know some of my favorite songs make me feel sad, and help me remember certain things when I listen to certain songs.  Here are songs that do that:

"I Don't Wanna Hurt No More" - Nate Dogg
"The Light" - Common
"You Never Know" - Warren G
"You Are" - Bilal
"Love It" - Bilal
"Been A Long Time" - TQ
"Best Friend"  -TQ
"Hard Life" - TQ
"Internationally Yours" - TQ
"Show Me Love" - Snoop Dogg
"Lifetime" - Maxewell
"Everytime" - Latoiya Williams
"Friends"  - Tha Eastsidaz

How bout y'all?

"suicidal thoughts" - Biggie

"when I die fuck it, I wanna go to hell,
cos I'm a piece of shit it ain't hard to fuckin' tell"

That's a deep song, and Biggie had the balls to say things 99% of rappers wouldn't dare (or even think of)
Too bad Puffy had to stick his voice all over the track and spoil it............

Ah, no use namin' um they're the same for everybody.

BTW, yall... any of you know how to read music?  If you did, you'd know that these songs purposely make you sad, there's really no thought to it, all you have to do is make it in a minor key, and put a few minor notes in there, and voila, it's a sad song.  You can take any song that's in a major key, and make it sad just by turning the 3rd note flat (minorizing the key).  then there's little tricks like false resolutions etc. that lead you right along too.  If any of yall play piano, you'll know what I mean.

Peace~
