Now that we all had a chance to pick up the Daz album....

aiight ya'll.. Explain why you think Daz's So So Gangsta album flopped. I think it's all of the above.

1. Daz isnt sellable anymore. I think Daz's style is outdated. The album is stuck in the 90s. He needs to change his style if he wanna go commercial again.

2. JD shortchanged Daz.. Daz been on So So Def for 2-3 years now.. Yet you hear all these hits from JD (from Dem Franchise boys to Mariah Carey).. I'm suprised that JD didn't give Daz some of those songs..

3. West Coast rap  can't sell.. The gangsta rap image is dying..

4. Rap music in general isn't selling. Rap music is starting to cool off now that you got the pop heavyweights releasing quality albums again..

5. This album is a good album if you're a die-hard Daz fan..

Daz's time passed 10 years ago. He shoulda been a legend by now, not an up n comer.

If you like the album, cool bump it, if not throw the shit away. Everybody is trying to come with this conspiracy theory as to why the album did not sell. Hell, I don't know. JUST ENJOY THE ALBUM!!!!

I was the a HUGE supporter of this project until I realized how many tracks were not included on it... and from what I've heard A LOT of people are upset that he left off so many classics.

Being a big daz fan I gota say this was an enjoyable album to me, however it missed a few of the previously leaked tracks which would have made it 10x better....

I can't really answer the poll with just one question....

1. Choice of single wasn't bad, but it wasn't for Daz. If it had been a Rick Ross single that was attempting to get play in L.A., it would have worked. But this song ONLY got played in Miami from what I know, and it wasn't a party type song that could get pumped at clubs. At the same time....people who heard it in Miami probably figured "this is the only song on the album that sounds like this...so I'll just play it on DJ Miami Bass's mixtape instead of going to buy the album."

2. Promotion was actually decent compared to many releases, but still wasn't enough.

3. West Coast rap just has major problems selling nowadays.

4. Daz is actually one of the few older West Coast cats still marketable, because his voice and flow is stronger that it's ever been. But you just have to be hella careful on your choice of singles, because that will determine what audiences will catch it and want to buy it.

I could keep going....but those are the main issues to me.

I liked the album and it surprised me that JD stayed behind the scenes, but the album doesnt have alot of replay value at all.  just my opinion.
