Ras Kass- Eat Or Die

What did you guys think of the album? Although I would rather Ras be on a major and drop something, this album is straight fire. POTW is my personal favorite.

How does it compare woth the previous two? 'Cause I thought Institutionalised was his best since Soul On Ice, but Revenge of the Spit sucked so bad I could barely listen...

(This is what i posted in raskass-central as i don't want to re-type)

Been listening to this album for over 3 weeks and it just ain’t grown on me at all and now given up.

I thought Institutionalised was ok and Revenge of the spit was an improvement but this album doesn’t do anything for me outside of about 5 songs and whats with advertising the likes of Nas on this album as if theres a collab only to see him being sampled.

Ras needs to step up lyrically and get rid of these dry guest on his album or get REAL lyricsts collabing with him like Monch, NAS, chino, ect.

and the reason I ain’t feeling this album has nothing to do with Soul on ice (someone always brings up SOI) or songs not being lyrical, I just find 90% of the album boring.
I liked Van gogh and though tracks like Hot game, Golden child, Kiss U, Van Gogh ect were sh!t hot, I was happy with the Goldyn Chyld album as well and liked the more mainstream sounding songs. Institutionalised and ROTS were ok but nothing great (and for the record I can’t stand “write where I left off” coz Wordsmith by chino XL is homonym perfection so Ras’s attempt sounds wak to me)

But this album just does nothing for me.

Production doesn’t suit him and is uninspired, the guests are trash (I mean whats up with Ras is he frightened of collabing with REAL Mcs on this album, he manages to collab with some right bums on this CD) and in a majority of the tracks he ain’t saying anything.

I think it is better than ROTS, but not better than Institutionalized. I just want him to drop "real" album already. I don't care if he has to sign to Koch.

damn. I can't find this shit anywere. to buy or download. I want it sooo bad. I'm relatively new to Kass' music. I ALWAYS hear everyone talkin' about how this dude is the shit. I found Instit. & Revenge of The spit, and bought them both. Lol, It was a risk. I thought Instit. was the shit, and revenge of the spit was alright. I really wanna hear this album man. Especially the collabo between him & T.I. on "She Choosin".

I'm disappointed by this MIXTAPE. The only song that has any replay value IMO is Whip It (Street Fame) ft Trae.

I liked this mixtape. I thought it was better then revenge of the spit, but not as good as Instit. The track I was most lookin' forward to (with T.I.) bothered me. With Ras quickly becoming 1 of my favs, and T.I. already 1 of them, I was really lookin' forward to this collabo. And the only thing T.I. does on the track is the hook, AND it's taken from a part of his 24s track. But anyways, good mixtape overall.

this album is terrible, by far the worst anything I've heard from ras. It doesn't hold its weight lyrically and that is what Ras is known for. I think that raskasscentral review is on point. I love joints like The Seance, FuckYou Up, that song with Busta that was released before he went to prison, those joints were hard, especially Seance. I thought Van Gogh was tight, the commercial joints like Back it UP and deep songs like TV Guide and God Bless were all hard.

There is nothing like that in this group of throwaway tracks and the guests are all boring. Yall are right, he should have collabed with some real lyricists.

This album was a disappoint on every level.
