Yeah its good but the injury simulation is a bit overdone. Got many long-term injuries, while my training schedule isn't too hard.

can some1 shed some light on this game for me...i've been playing football games since fifa 97 but never tried one of these manager games

are they too technical, is there any actual gameplay involved (like in pro evo or fifa)

There is no gameplay in Football Manager. As far as for the technical side, its all pretty logical.

Through playing you get more and more understanding of how to manage a team and approach the game in general. I can assure you that the game can be very addictive when you get the hang of it.

Went Chelsea, nothing to brag about.  Won the EPL and CL, lost the FA Cup SMF I think, won the league cup.

Just started a game with Inter, again nothing much to brag about.  Top of the league 14 wins out of 14, Milan sold Kaka to Chelsea for 60m which helped

My only braggin point is having 18 points out of 18 in my CL group including 2 wins over Chelsea.

Here is a breakdown of exactly what you need from a coach in order to get ***** for each element of training.


Strength: fitness >= 18
Aerobic: fitness >= 18
Goalkeeping: coaching Gks >= 18
Tactics: tactical >= 18

Defending: defending = 18 & tactical >= 18 or
Defending: defending = 19 & tactical >= 14 or
Defending: defending = 20 & tactical >= 10    (what this means is, if you have a coach with defending 20, he only needs 10 and above for tactical to achieve 5 star coaching for defending)

Ball Control: technique = 18 & mental >= 18 or
Ball Control: technique = 19 & mental >= 14 or
Ball Control: technique = 20 & mental >= 10

Attacking: attacking = 18 & tactical >= 18 or
Attacking: attacking = 19 & tactical >= 14 or
Attacking: attacking = 20 & tactical >= 10

Shooting: technique = 18 & attacking >= 18 or
Shooting: technique = 19 & attacking >= 14 or
Shooting: technique = 20 & attacking >= 10

Set Pieces: technique = 17 & mental + attacking >= 39 or
Set Pieces: technique = 18 & mental + attacking >= 36 or (i.e. for mental + attacking you require a total of 36 between those 2 stats.) Could be Ment-17 & Att-19.
Set Pieces: technique = 19 & mental + attacking >= 33 or
Set Pieces: technique = 20 & mental + attacking >= 30

>=  means greater than or equal to  i.e.  >=18  means he must have 18, 19, 20
