What did the West Coast really do in the past 10 years?

2001 is pretty much the ONLY landmark album that has came out from the West since the death of Tupac. 50 brought the West back, with Dre, in the form of Game. Remember this: No 50, no Game album on Aftermath. No Game album, no "The West Is Back" talk. So, yes, 50 DID help bring the West back.

How is the west back???Just cause Game dropped a multi-platinum album & because a few dudes got an album deal doesn't mean anything.Plus even with majors behind them they ain't gonna sell shit (except for Game).

Now i'm not sure, but the 5 million records sold that Game is talking about could be 5 million as in "5 million copies shipped out to stores worldwide" (in other words sold by the label to stores).

The "ALMOST 4" numbers that 50 gave in this interview is prolly the number of CONFIRMED copies (soundscan) that has been SOLD by STORES worldwide.

So you could say they both right, but what do I know i'm just guessing.

Anyway the funny thing with 50 is that back in 2004/2005 he was always on the radio bragging about Lloyd Banks, Buck & Game's sales, comparing them to Murda Inc (Ashanti, Ja Rule, Lloyd) laughing and saying they (Murda Inc) can't move units.

Now that G-Unit are flopping (Yayo, Mobb Deep & Banks) you don't hear him speak to much about numbers no more, lol.

According to Hitsdailydouble (soundscan), Game sold 2.3 million in the US, so I'd say the "Almost 4" theory isnt that far fetched.

50 Cent: I'm already seeing what I expect. I see Game writing a song without a hook for "One Blood". I said he's a good rapper, he's not a good songwriter. I see Game making a record where he's totally mimicking 50 Cent and Dr. Dre for the follow-up single ["Let's Ride"]. He mimicks Dr. Dre vocally on each verse on his new single, and he's copying my style on the chorus. If you can't hear that when you listen to that record, I don't even wanna talk to you cause you don't even know Hip Hop. When you hear "One Blood", what you'll hear is rap verses. It's like, this kid's M.O. is to make 300 bars. He can rap! Can he write a song? No! And when it comes the time to write a song for his single, he does what he thinks 50 Cent would do.

LMAO @ This guy. The West has a Platinum Plaque for the first time in a VERY long time. The West has more than 5 people on a Major for the first time in an even longer time. Yes, and then he SOLD 1 mill in the UK alone so like I said they are prolly both right.

I just get tired of all the chart hoeing that is going around the industry. Since 50 Cent did numbers does that make Nelly a force in hip hop? He did 4 mil. It's kinda like what Pac said, Crucial Conflict can sell 3 mil, but they are not re writting hip hop laws or making them. 50 is a businessman, with or without the numbers so it sounds to me like he is obsessed with that and success depends on it. So when the well runs dry go back to those same numbers, same with Game because he talks the same way.

My arguement is not with that. I give 50 and Game their props for what they have done and continue to do. If a album has impact it has impact. I just think everybody is running to the charts weekly to decide whether or not a album has any substance now.
