Blame America if you guys need to walk with a gun for security.

Amen to that. I can't think of any one situation where having a gun whilst wandering the streets is actually going to help you anyway, just causes disputes to escalate into something much worse than they really should be.

Blame America if you guys need to walk with a gun for security. Here in Italy NOBODY does.

And if someone pulls a gun on you you are fucked.

^^How do you know if that gun didn't save Stephen Jackson's life? Apparently, some dude was attempting to run him over, shooting a gun into the air at that point can scare the attacker (assuming Jackson was the victim, which he claimed)...That's not the point though. are you against guns? Either you are or aren't...I'm not. With that being said, someone as big as a professional NBA player BEST be keeping a gun on themselves... do you realize how many assholes out there start shit with them just because of who they are? Lamar Odom was robbed at gun-point this summer, do you think that would've happened had Odom been strapped? I don't...I think it's a human's right to make their own decision regarding whether or not they want to keep themselves protected...It's one thing to control what's going on in the game, but when you start bringing your "rules" off the court and actually changing these peoples lives against their will just because you're their "boss", that's when shit starts getting out of hand...PeACe

You act as if you would have your gun in hand (literally) at all  times. If someone pulls out a gun and says give me all your money, you're not gonna reach for your gun, they would see the gun and proceed to kill you. From what I took from the police report the car was already by Jackson, not coming at him, when Jackson started firing.

And no it isn't you're either for or against guns, i've already stated what I believe. I believe that only on duty police officers should be allowed to carry a gun on them in public. I also believe that you should be able to have a gun at your house to protect your home (if someone breaks in its much safer to be firing a gun in your house than in the middle of the street). But if out of no where guns were banned and only cops carried them, i'd be fine with that too.

Thats not a reality though, guns could be banned but people would still have them, there is already to many of them out on these streets.  In some places its not safe to walk these streets without a gun or some type of protection, especially for a basketball players who are targets to get robbed.  Police are shady to, them having guns wouldnt make anything anymore safe.

You're saying that there is no situation in which a gun could come in handy outside of your house?...If not, what you just typed up is useless. If you really do believe that, then it's most likely due to your environment...PeACe

He's not telling them they can't have guns nor is he passing a rule saying they can't have guns which would be unconstitutional.

NIK, keep reaching and saying David Stern is a racist.

Everybody's racist in some way...You honestly don't think it upsets David Stern one bit that the league he owns has been "blackened" and "thugged out"?

There really isn't. If someone pulls a gun on you what, you think they're gonna let you reach for yours too? lmao You better be able to predict the future or something. If you need a gun to walk down the street you're either A. surrounding yourself with the wrong people B. a dumbass for being in places that you know are unsafe to begin with.

I just wish the government would ban guns, and if they catch anyone with em throw em in prison, because guns are one of the reasons this fucking country sucks.

He's in the business of making money, alot of fans don't care for the "thug" image in the league.

what if that person lives in an unsafe place?

We're talking about NBA players/Pro athletes. And if you live in a unsafe place I guess we know why its unsafe now don't we? Just in case you don't know the answer, its because of crazy barbaric morons that don't even deserve to live.

My point is, by the time something is happening, its too late to even pull out your gun. And the only person that has enough people that hate them that actually warrants a team of body guards is the president. I'd say most famous people wit hbody guards just use them to keep annoying fans away from them.
