Usually a player who is hated; is someone who people hate bcoz they fear their ability, jealous of the success that player has had or their loyalty to the team that person hates. (i.e. the quoted example).

But for me right now, there is no player at Rangers who's ability I fear.

There is no-one at the club who has had great success (apart from maybe Le Guen ).

The closest to hating would prolly be...

Player: Barry Ferguson (bcoz he has been brought up a Rangers fan and has been there a while).  But he doesn't even bother me that much bcoz of his lack of ability.

I hated the Celtics so much back in the days that the hate transcended into every Boston team so I hate all Boston teams, always will.

Basketball players I hate:
Antoine Walker, something about this guy just pisses me off, I hate his game, his attitude.
Raja Bell, for obvious reasons
Chris Webber, overrated loser during his prime, now he's complete garbage. I love how he'd look depressed and choke every time the Lakers would destroy them in the playoffs.
I used to really hate Karl Malone until he became a Laker, then he became my favorite Laker that year.

Baseball:
Pedro Martinez, that jheri curl just pisses me off, I just want to strangle him and I don't know why. I don't hate Barry Bonds, I'm just disappointed that he cheated, he was already pretty damn good without the drugs. Him and Ken Griffey jr used to run MLB. It's a shame he had to go out like that.

Football:
No one I hate, but Terrel Owens attention whoring gets annoying.
