Personally, I've heard a decent number of JR's beats, maybe 15-20 that I knew were his, and I think he's nowhere near Scott as a whole....however, it's somewhat of a case of the 6th man tryin his hardest to make the lineup, while the starter is slackin and only shows how dope he is when he has to. Thing about Scott is that he is EASILY the most diverse producer in rap, and the ONLY person who can make a beat that sounds truly West Coast (L.A.), East Coast, Down South, and probably even Bay or Midwest if he had to.....and he can make a STRONG club track, great laid back track, great reflective track, dark grimey track, or anything inbetween. However....after Lean Back, his name was in such demand, that he didn't have to try hard anymore to sell beats, and he was able to only bring his A game on one of every 6-8 tracks....and he also had to milk the sound of "Lean back" by makin a grip of beats that used the same formula.

But please believe....I think Scott could come with a COMPLETELY different sound from what we are used to him doin if he wanted to, but bein a producer, I can understand the point of milking your sound to the death, just because people are gonna buy it and you don't have to try as hard. And I read his interview where he said that he purposely waters his beats down because he can't get too complex with his music because the general audience won't appreciate it...that makes PLENTY of sense, and I believe that he could drop some shit that was great, but would go over most people's heads.

So yeah....I think JR may be more consistent up to this point, just as Scott was before "Lean Back"....but he still has to prove himself of bein at Scott's level, who is at "Super Producer - A list" level for producers.
