Author Topic: Doggystyle first print w/ g'z up hoes down, and tha next episode. Question?  (Read 410 times)

We Fly High

Ok i need to re-edit this post, because i didnt seem to convey the idea correctly.

first off i know that "Tha Next Episode" was never released officially on the Doggystyle album. It just appeared as an interlude on the CD, but for the sake of it, whenever i refer to "Tha Next Episode", I am actually referring to the interlude.

So I am aware that the first print run of Doggystyle contained both "G'z Up and Hoes Down" and "Tha Next Episode". I bought two Doggystyle cds today, both with "G'z Up and Hoes Down" and "Tha Next Episode" listed on the back of the jewel case. However, when i Put the cd into my itunes/computer, there are some inconsistencies with the tracklisting. "Tha Next Episode (INTERLUDE)" plays on both cds, however, only one of the cd contains "G'z Up and Hoes Down".

So basically what im saying is, I have two copies of the cd with both tha next episode and g'z up hoes down on the back tracklisting. But one cd has 19 tracks, and the other one has 18 tracks (the one missing g'z up hoes down). How many tracks are on the subsequent prints of doggystyle?

The original next episode was never released.  It was leaked in horrible quality by one of the guys from Foesum named Dj Glaze.  The song was produced by Warren G and Dr. Dre.  It never made the album because of the sample it used wasn't cleared in time.  G'z Up Hoes Down made the first run but was removed in the future runs because of sample clearances.  I think the original artists didn't want their song to used in a negative way.

well i know tha next episode (the song, not the interlude) was never released. but im talking about inconsistencies between the tracklisting on the cd, and the cd itself.

those are all the real legitimate songs on the cds, but the back of the cd didnt include interludes in the tracklisting. pop it into itunes, or your cd player, and it should tell y ou the total amount of tracks including interludes.
