Thats straight up bullshit that he was talkin bout the Pac albums.  He don't fuckin know that Pac woulda worked with Ashanti and TI and 50 cent and all them.  I don't know that he wouldn't have worked with them either.  What I do know is that he DID work with Big Syke and the outlawz, spice 1, richie rich, c-bo, dru down, e-40, b-legit, etc

he was working with Dr the same time Pac was there and probably met Pac on occassion.  He'd have a better idea of what Pac would have liked businesswise than Eminem, Pharrell, Kanye West, Jazze Pha, and his mother.

Great interview Nima. I think LT Hutton is a talented producer, but I must say that I disagree with his comments on the fans that do not approve of the new 'Pac material. He seems to get a bit too authoritative with his view. Frankly, all fans are entitled to their opinions on the alteration of 2pac's music. LT Hutton may have worked with 2pac while he was alive, but the fact remains that he is no longer here and we simply do not know if he would have worked with Ashanti or not. I personally think that he would not have, but that doesn't make me right.

What Pac' "would have done" is all speculation and irrelevant. No one can tell us what Pac would have done except him. What matters is what he did. If the man laid down a verse over a beat either keep the beat or keep it as close as possible without the infringement issue. I don't know if Pac 'would have' worked with T.I., but I do know he didn’t.

Anyways, good in-depth interview.

Propz Nima, but I dont agree w/ what he said about Pac's albums.  And Pac's Life is one of the worst albums I have ever heard its really sad what they are doing to his legacy.

And you know what's really going to make them mad? The next 'Pac album, I'ma do the whole goddamn thing so nobody can say nothing. And I'm bringing everybody in, and we're really really going to dig into it. I'ma take control of the next one, it may be coming in January, so lookout for that! *laughs* People talking that shit, but instead the state of the rap game and the whole nonsense going on, that's what they need to talk about!

I didn’t even see that the first read. What an asshole.

Go make records with T.I. yourself LT, don't drag a dead mans last living testament into it!
It seems these new 2pac albums are created with everyone else in mind EXCEPT 2pac. With quotes like this from the people who directly service these unreleased records how can their self-serving agendas even be debated?

Sounds like "Loyal to the Game" all over again.

So what do you suggest that they do?

yes, he didn't work with T.I. Keep in mind T.I. was about 15/16 when Pac passed, and wasn't even rapping yet.

Leave the music alone. Or, in the case they can’t (sample issues for ex.) have the original producer make a new beat in the same vain and spirit of the original. Amaru should do what Motown and Columbia records do to unreleased Marvin Gaye records. Take them as they are, polish them and release them as Marvin left them.

And if they aren’t finished? Well tough luck 2pac died and didn’t get to finish everything he worked on. That's how (his) life is, it is what it is. There's a famous quote "A poem is never finished, only abandoned." and Pac' was a poet first and a rapper second. Maybe those songs are supposed to be left abandoned; maybe they're supposed to leave you unfulfilled, questioning what Pac’ was actually trying to say and leaving you with more questions than answers. That’s what true art does. Pac’s music represents his last living will and testament, he left what he left people need to accept that and release it as is or not at all.

Well put man. I thought they were going more in that direction with all the work Johnny J did on Better Dayz but then came Loyal To The Game. I can still appreciate the remixes but I hear where you are coming from also.

i dont like the shit hes saying about pac.

doesnt sound honest to me...
sounds like hes using his 'relationship' with pac to do whatever HE wants to do

i lost my mom 10yrs ago, and i can tell i knew her...
and STILL i never talk like he does about pac in this interview... being soooo certain to know whats definately right and whats wrong... MAKING DESCISSIONS for a dead person, who had a own will. i think thats b/c they werent actually so close as he's claiming and thats exactly why he's lacking the respect to his dead 'friend'.

And the bottom line is there is no will and testament to the direction that Pac wanted his music to go. So now you have all these people that want to interpret that. Tomorrow ain't promised and if there is no will or decree to decide who gets what or what to do with your estate, things like this that is going on take place. But if I was not here and did not leave a will, I would want my mother or father to make those decisions in my place.

LT sounded kinda defensive when the TI / Ashanti stuff came up.  He must be hearing lots of grumbling from peeps especially on the net.  As far as him talking to Snoop, and Snoop cosigning what he did is irrelevant.  Snoop hasn't put out a decent album in 5 years.

Props on that.  I agree 100%.  Pac doesn't need Ashanti & TI and some wack beat that's accessible to radio.  Leave the features to the actual people that were on the song.  If there were no featured artists don't arbitrarily pick some music acts that are perceived to be acceptable.

What these idiots don't realize is that it's not a diss to TI, Ashanti, or the beat.  It's the fact that they're taking Pac's vision and completely shitting on it.  Just remaster the tracks, clean them up so they're CDQ.  If they can't clear the sample they can sure as hell come damn close at reproducing it themselves.
