I Think I Know Mel-Man's Style Now
« on: November 17, 2001, 01:31:17 PM »
Coming up in the game making beats with the greatest producer of our time, we may find it hard to hear what Mel-Man's style is when making beats solo.  We've heard some recent solo Mel-Man songs, "Dogg Named Snoop," "Benefit Of The Doubt" and "No."  I think I've found what Mel-Man likes to use when making beats.

Mel definatley has a knack for horns/trumpets.  He's used horns as the base for, "Dogg Named Snoop" and Joe Beast's "No."  Which makes me think that Mel-Man was the one who came up with the idea to insert those trumpets in "What's The Difference."  Can you name a track Dre has used Trumpets in that doesn't list Mel-Man as a co-producer?  I think the only one is, "Best Of Things."

Also, Mel-Man has said he loves puttin down those drums that go, "Rat-tat-tat-tat."  LOL, that we know from songs like "Some LA Niggaz" and "Xxplosive."  Mel also uses Dre's futuristic extras aswell to make it into that Aftermath brand we all love.  what do y'all think?

If Mel inserted those trumpets for What's the Difference that was a great move...I heard the original with Hitman on it instead of Xzibit and the beat seemed kinda plain...
