For real man. Here people dont even know about Wii or Nintendo DS. They only know/buy PS2, PS3, PSP and 360. I mean they have Wii and DS for sale, but people ain't buying them. I know a couple of guys in a very huge supermarket here, and he told me they sold just 1 DS (they ordered like 30 of them) and no Wii (i've seen 10 of them today). They're selling PS2's for 100€ here (included PES6) and people is buying that shit for Xmas. Or a 360 with Gears of War/PES6. It's funny to see people going crazy for Wii, DS and PS3 all over the world but here, lol.

Man what can i say? I only know Mario from your list, and it's the same for 99% of italians. I'm not saying the game sucks or Nintendo sucks, i'm just saying they don't have a good market here. Game Boy was pretty popular tho'. But 10 years ago.

I think it's a mix of ignorance and prejudices. You know.. "I prefeer SONY". That kind of shit. "NINTENDO? It's for kids". Plus they have ZERO commercials on tv. I mean no promotion at all.

I'm an idiot.  Here's me in the store, looking at the box the Wii comes in....

"Oh, the sensor bar... I wonder where I would put that, it's probably like 3 feet long"

Of course the box the Wii comes in is only a foot long, but I never put 2 and 2 together. 

lol yea i thought the sensor bar was gonna be bigger too,even when i had the box i thought mayb u had to connect like 3 different parts or sumthin ,then i opened the wii and saw that lil muthafucka and i was like nicee!!

See, I never even got so far as to think of pieces that fit together.  I looked at the contents on the side of the box, and when I saw the bar, I visualized it as three feet long, even though I was holding the box in my hands.  I didn't even catch that, lol.

No no, it has nothing to do with Mario being italian.
Nintendo just doesn't sell well here.
And i think Italy is not strategic for them since they ain't even promoting it.
It's like The Sopranos, i know you guys love them and shit, but here nobody knows who The Sopranos are.
They don't play it on tv's.
I know about them from the net.
Actually they show it on satelite, but nobody really cares.
