Just called, and as I expected they were no help. Some guy from I don't even fuckin know where was "helping" me and kept saying "oohhhh this make me so depress, I would give you free repair if i could and free game too!". Yeah thats nice, give me a call when you can do that buddy, until then fuck microsoft. I'm not paying another $140 (plus shipping) to have a console I just paid $400 for 4 months ago repaired (when in all honesty I would never ever see the console I shipped to them ever again, I would get some POS refurb). Its just ridiculous how so many people have fucking problems with this system, its almost like its by design just to make an extra $140 from each console sold. I'm gonna try to pull some kinda return scheme at a walmart or something to see if I can get a new one, if not I guess more drastic measures will be taken. BTW, the Xbox 360 still works wonderfully as a $400 paperweight.

I'm sorry but you can't believe any statistics MS puts out. THey also say only 3-5% of xbox360s have had any problems. I've hardly ever heard of anyones 360 lasting more than about 6 months. Theres a thread on the xbox.com forums with 9 pages worth of people saying their xbox's were bricked after the update. The 360 is a great system, but its made like shit (whether this is on purpose or not I don't know)
Well first of all i'm not blaming the update as much for the 360 fucking up as much as i'm blaming the fact that its still just as defective as it was at launch. They basically said theres nothign they can do unless I pay them, which I will not do. If it had actually lasted as long as a $400 system should have, I would have no problem paying for repairs. They just really need to figure out how to correct whatever is wrong with the 360 because its really a faulty system.
Yeah I made a thread a while back about my 360 going kaput. Not sure if it was attributed to an update or not, it just quit working. I had bought my 360 from Wal-Mart and went and exchanged it no problem. But I had my receipt.

I bought mine at walmart but taking my receipt would make it less likely that I could get a new one than just going i nthere saying i got it recently as a present lol.
