He's worth way more than 6-7million per, it would have been insane for him to sign that deal. He can easily make double of that later before the 2008 season. It's really a slap to the face to Matsuzaka that the offer was 6-7 million per.
It's not difficult to measure the talent level in Japan. If you look at what Meche, Lilly, Padilla and a few others got this season...he should get about 15-16, and that could be a bargain.
