I looke din the archives for Mac dre's death in 04 and it seriously looks like maybe 5 cats said anything about it, i was surprised...did i miss/fail to find any extensive discussion of Mac Dre somewhere in the archives?

         Cause seriously, the dude was sicktastic. From 2002 to like a month ago, I gave a fuck about rap because the shit I was hearing was so tired and recently a friend showed me mac dre when I got back from san francisco and it wa on and cracking. It was a rapper that had all the gangsta funkiness and sonic mastery of my west coast faves like snoop, daz, kurupt, etc. but he also was hippie pedigreed from the bay area culture, talking about all kinds of races of people as well as hallucinogenic mushrooms, big ass dreads and dude knew what was up with dank and strains and stoner culture in a way that frankly most rappers don't. it's the perfect blend of the G funk that I loved since mad young and the california hippie culture i've immersed myself in in the last several years.

But on the real, dude has some straight west coast bangers...For the love of god, anyone that likes west coast rap download "Doing What I Do" my Mac Dreezy. Even though the shit that he talks about is mad  tired (pimpin, gangsta ) the way he does it is clever as shit. Not to mention dude is hilarious. He uses similar mic techniques as Snoop at times but he does his own thing with in the sense that he'll flex his voice in a soothing way so it's like psychologically appealing and his shit is maaad clever. But seriously, as I'm sure some of you know, dude's a west coast legend in the bay and I feel he should be a west coast legend period....I'm not fucking around when I would say the quality and volume of his output is comparable to that of snoop or too short.

         Dude was putting it down in 89 on up.

I seriously just know of very few people that dig on mac dreezy cause he never got radio play really so i figured if there's anywhere I could find some Mac dre fans, it'd be here. It's actually a huge part of the reason I came back to the forum was to find some cats to talk about mac dre with cause he's the first rapper i've gotten this into since 2002.

he has a song with warren g and some other LA cats that we know and love (i think kokane and daz or some such similar combination) called "Fast Money" shit is pretty hot.

I also had a question, even though like most west coast rappers he spells his name alot and shit I've only heard him say the words "Doctor Dre" once and that's on a very funky piano/guitar based production called "Get Stupid(Remix)". I was wondering if anyone knew if by chance this remix was produced by Dr.Dre? It seems unlikely because I've observed no work between them before or after but I've yet to purchase the album and alot of mac dre's albums don't have detailed liner notes anyway, so if any one knew, i'd appreciate learning the producer of that shit. The lyric actually is "This beat pounds, cutty where'd you get it? Oh you didn't know? Dr.Dre did it!" I know most would think that tells you flat out but i just find it weird because i've never heard of any documentation of them collaborating so if anyone could illuminate the situation, i'd appreciate.

He IS like a cartoon character. That's one of the things I like about him. Those aren't album titles, but song titles. Also the song "Err Thang" is a fucking banger. As far as Albums:
