First off sell out, it's about your culture, or at least what your culture is based off of. The Mayan were the first great empire of the Americas, and this movie was about their down fall. So you maybe homophobic, but the Mayan were one of the rear civilizations that believed in fucking women outside of marriage until you find your right partner. Even the Aztecs would kill you for adultry.

Second, it's about the Mayan, not the Aztecs, or Mexica as the Aztecs called themselves.

I don't mean to be a smartass, but the Mayans weren't/aren't Indians. As for the language being spoken, I believe it's Yucatec.
