Ok, so let's we only pick the beats after 2003, since that's the new era of Dre's production:50 Cent - In Da Club, HeatG-Unit - Poppin Them Thangs, G'd UpObie Trice - Oh, Look In My Eyes, Shit Hits The FanMary J. Blige - Not TodayEminem - Encore (Big Weenie and Rain Man are also nice but I can't really judge them since Em sucked so much)The Game - How We Do, Higher, Start From Scratch50 Cent - Outta Control, Gunz Come Out, Outta Control remixGRODT OST - When It Rains It Pours (it kinda reminds me of the last track of 2001, same vibe)Busta Rhymes - Get You Some, Been Through The Storm, Cocaina, Goldmine, Don't Get Carried Away (especially the chours!)Jay-Z - Trouble (but more changes in the beat!)Snoop Dogg - ImagineStat Quo - Here We GoBTW Larabee you need to update this: http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=103016.0

When I think of a 'Detox' style beat, I think of switch ups in the beat and chord changes every several bars. A few other examples that I can think of include Obie Trice's "Oh!"Em, Dre, 50 "Encore"Game "Don't Worry" ( during his verses )Game "Start From Scratch" ( not so much in terms of switch ups but in beat pattern and layering )Busta "Cocaina"the encore beat was one of the worst dre beats i heard in ages, it was so rigid and eminem like it hardly even sounded like a westcoast cat made the beat imo...the only joint from bustas album to me which is detox studio session material is the get you some beat...wasnt impressed with dres other shit on the album...i think the beat for nas and busta was dissapointing....i think the beat with the grave digging effect was def made with detox in mind or atleast on some creative shit but overall the beat is not very good...cocaina is a nice joint but the beat is boring...dont worry is ncie during game verses yes but detox material?....start from scratch is def detox worthy and so were oh and the setup was a banger to instrumental wise...would have been perfect for snoop to rap over....but nothing dre has done recently really even comes into mind when in thinkin of detox....i think you need to check 2001 again and some of his beats the year or 2 after that and remind yourself of real dre beats...and i know you're a big dre fan and got good knowledge so u know your dre shit but really i dont think hardly any of the shit mentioned in this thread is comin into detox, if dre thought any of it was good enough, he would have kept it imo...pzI agree with you that Dre ain't hitting them out the park like he used to. The beats I mentioned were not my particular favorites, just a few joints that illustrated that concept of the beat switching up and shit. As long as the sound is fresh, I'll dig it but lately, there hasn't been anything too noteworthy to come out of Dre's studio.
