Rakim - Me and Dre man we decided to cut it short man. We had creative differences. Basically I wanted to do what I felt the world wanted me to do. My man Doc (Dr. Dre) wanted me to bring the guns back out, simple as that and I respect that 'cause that's the way he gets down but I don't think the world wanted that from Ra at this time. So I decided to come back to the East Coast and get it poppin' back off man.


what the hell does he mean 'bring the guns back out'? That is the vaguest shit ever. rappers are always saying some vague ass shit.

Nah, Dre wanted Ra to spit the typical gangsta shit- bitches, guns- all that. As ra says, he wanted to be more on a positive tip, but time was wrong.

I find that hard to believe, I mean Rakim was never a gangsta rapper and I'm sure Dre knew that. If I had to guess, I'd say he meant Dre wanted him to come and just rip shit the fuck up whereas rakim perhaps wanted to do something more suttle, less aggressive or something.
