Maggette & Howard would be a nice combo. But where does that leave JJ Reddick?

If this trade goes through it just proves once again that the Kings are not serious about winning. How are you going to give up a Defensive Player of the Year candidate for a guy that only scores, and not often enough to warrant a starting position. I don't like Artest, but he brought grit and hard defensive play to Sacramento. Maggette has none of those qualities. I live in Sacramento and hate the Kings, so cheers to them if this goes through. It'll give me something else to run my mouth about to all my friends that are Kings fans.

So what, Corey plays BOTH postitions... NBA.com is stupid, they had Boris Diaw under guard for all of last year. They finally changed it to forward this year (not even forward/center!)...Type in "small forward Corey Maggette" in a google search.

That could be because Phoenix originally had him down as a back-up PG. Maggette is a SG/SF but is a primarily a SG (ex: Vince Carter, Michael Redd).

From a blog from ESPN.com

"Just false reports," Artest counters. "I'm happy here and want to be a part of the new Sacramento Kings. We are so competitive that, when we lose, it's not something we [can] get used to. Most teams lose and you won't hear a thing the whole season. On this team, Mike will blame himself and I will blame myself. But we are playing better and Brad Miller is back, so people should expect wins."

As for Bibby, who can opt out of his contract at season's end to enter free agency, Artest added: "We talked [at Sunday's practice] and we talk every day. We have to get used to playing with each other. But we both plan to stay in Sac."

A cynic might say that Artest is saying all the right things to convince the Clips to ignore any reservations they might have and go through with the deal.

Me? I have to think Artest, deep down, knows staying or going won't be his call at all.

Sorry, but Maggette is way more capable of playing small forward than Vince Carter or Michael Redd, LOL. He STARTED at small forward for a good portion of his career, man...I know Boris Diaw played guard, he came into the league as a guard, but the point was that he was the starting center last year for Phoenix, but was still listed as a guard for the whole season under nba.com...PeACe
