Gilbert Arenas wants the new ball back
« on: January 03, 2007, 01:10:11 PM »
Lol gotta love this guy...

Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas was one of the most outspoken critics of the synthetic ball early on, but now that a change has been made -- and he's been on a scoring binge -- he's had a change of heart.

"We really don't want the change," he told the Washington Post. "We really don't want to go back. We played with this (new) ball, we got accustomed to it. They gave us the old balls, and we were like, 'What the hell is this? Why did we even play with this?' It's funny because everyone is looking at the old ball, like, 'Nobody wants to play with this anymore. This is terrible.' It's slippery. It's heavy."

how so?

At first he was complaining when these new balls came in, saying they were slippery and had a bad feel and what not...Now he's complaining about going back to the old ball, saying they're slippery and heavy and what not...LOL.

this whole ball controversy is gettin pretty fuckin annoying...imo, they shoulda kept the new ball for this season and then switched back if all the fuss was still going on after the season, at least that way the players could get back used to the old ball...and as far as arenas goes...dude needs to shut up, and that goes for the rest of the people who whine about the switch back too.

Gilbert Arenas never scored 60 points with the old ball, so of course he likes the new ball  ;D

those niggas be more concerned with that nba ball than their own balls it seems
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

Make up your mind

Think the controversy over the NBA ball is dead? Of course not. These are professional athletes, who, as a lot, tend to thrive on finding things to complain about.

Phoenix guard Steve Nash, in the Cleveland Plain Dealer: "... just when you get used to it, we're going back to the new ball again. It's almost harder to get used to playing with the old ball again."

Sacramento guard Kevin Martin, in the Sacramento Bee: "I liked (the synthetic ball - from Day One, even in summer league when my percentages weren't that good."

The answer here, clearly, is to make these guys play with volleyballs. Or hockey pucks.

I gotta check the higlights for that one. Why did all these games come on so early today? I didn't even get a chance to set up my fantasy rosters  :-[
