RED SPRINGS - Lawmen say it is not often that they chase a Barbie-doll backpack-toting suspect through the woods.

They say the bounty was 12 pounds of marijuana, all stuffed inside a child's backpack, and the arrest of Joseph David Williamson, 26, of 1982 Rowan Road, Lumberton. Williamson was arrested Thursday during a raid at a mobile home at 3794 Mt. Zion Church Road.

“When agents pulled in there to the back yard, he ran in the back door of the mobile home and he ran back out the door with the bag,” sheriff's Lt. Charlie Revels said. “He ran about 75 yards away from the house before agents caught up with him.”

Revels said inside the bag, which had the words “Girls Are The Best” written on it, were 12 individually wrapped bags of marijuana. The drugs had an estimated street value of about $18,000, according to Revels.

Agents charged Williamson with felony trafficking marijuana, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was jailed on a $20,000 bond.

thats a fuckin trip....about a year ago i had a customer who came in and spent like a grand on a phone and accessories and shit...he was pretty dirty and looked like he'd have no money...but the motherfucker pulled out a fat stack of hundo's out of a barbie backpack...tripped the shit out of me. I'm sure its not the same guy unless he moved in the last year...the name sounds kinda familiar but its a pretty common name
