When I play Madden sometimes I like to setup up 4 receivers out of the shotgun and throw the ball on every play. When the defence plays man coverage I could execute with out any problems. When they play zone it gets a little confusing. I try too hard to force plays sometimes which leads to interceptions. My question is what routes/plays should I use out of this formation when the D plays cover 2 or cover 1 zone?
1. Inside WR'sYour inside WR's are always open deep vs zone, you can also send your RB deep.Hike it and pump fake once.
2. SlantsI replace my inside WR with Antonio Gates(TE) and throw short slant passes all day.
3. Draw playHave your o-line spread out and block and run the draw with your RB all day from the shotgun formation.
4. Short pass to RBShort pass to running back where he moves from the middle of field to the sidelines. Also try the shotgun formation with 2 running backs, make sure you don't use the fullback.Throw short pass.
5. Cross field routesIf you they're not getting to your QB and you have time to run around...move from one side of the field to the other, having a WR cross the field with you and he will be wide open.
Damn, you got this shit down to a science. What's a backside post?
Thanks MoSav. I'm getting at least 15 yard cathes on every play.Quote from: Dipset SG-1 on January 12, 2007, 11:22:15 AM1. TE's are always money on short pass plays.Quote from: Dipset SG-1 on January 12, 2007, 11:22:15 AM3. I get nervous if I spend too much time in the pocket. Since my QB is fast and has a strong arm, I run to one side of the field and try and get an open WR. Or I have the QB run the ball.
have your recievers run a post, flat, in-out, and another flat.

Im coach and 8th grade team too, next year im gonna be the db's coach for a jv high school team, and from there i hope to one day have my own high school program and be the head coach! anyways, let me know if u need more advice

It's a play I needed for third and long situations too. So that's an added plus. The soft spot is always there. I usually have set routes/plays in mind out of other formations, so I haven't had time to try it all out yet. It's the 4 WR shotgun formation where I usually use more freedom in decsions/routes.I remember you bragging in another thread how well you knew football which made you a great Madden player. As far as more help, the only thing I need to do is tweak my defense a little.

Who said I had problems? My defence is solid (good luck to any team trying to run the ball against me). I just demand it be perfect. The only other problems I have are punt return (the cpu never blocks) and run plays to the outside.

But there are always improvements that can be made, no matter HOW GOOD you are. Is there anything that the offense gives you trouble with when youre on defense?
