just copped the wash, thoughts
« on: January 12, 2007, 10:59:03 AM »
Man, it's been a long time since i heard a record so full of shallow topic matter. the shallowest record i've heard in a fuckin' long time.

all thse r and b rap bitches are saying i'ma  ho but i'm not. shut the fuck up.

that timbo/sparx  track is funky as fuck. timbo is too good.

the knoc and busta dre produced songs are fire. is busta usually that good lyrically? shit is fire.

snoop should have been on more. alot of these cats is whack, soundtracks are so inconsistent.

the soopafly song would be tight if that chorus wasn't SOOOOOO FUCKING REPETITIVE. argh.

joe beast is mediocre as fuck.

man, aftermath/doggystyle have such a hard time with r and b. such a hard time. that benefit of the doubt would be a sick rap song beat, but the song is just too simple and shallow to be a good r and b song.

the xzibit track is cool. i can see how non drug users would be less amused. i'm gonna smoke a blunt to it asap.

Yeah, those were dope as fuck. Nothing else really impressed me. I was really disappointed considering all the hype it got at the time and how it was previously be a Dre/Snoop collabo. Oh well...

Yep. Yeah after they scrapped the whole Make Up To Break Up album I think they just threw some shit together. They even started selling the soundtrack with the movie after a couple weeks of the DVD being out to help sales.

Wait a minute, you didn't think "On Tha Blvd" was smashin?!?  What the hell!  JellyRoll smashed on the production and the chorus!  I thought the sdtk was pretty well!

I liked the Jelly Track, the Truth track, the Busta track plus the Knoc and Joe Beast track (oh and the Pooh/Dre production too of course 8)) but aside from that this soundtrack was always kindda lackluster to me....the Bones sdtk is way better....Wash is the better movie though 8)

There's only a couple songs on there I don't like.  I thought the R&B songs on there were good, I liked the Bilal track,My High was cool, and the Latoya track is good.

1. On The Blvd. -  Dope ass track. Jelly Roll brought a smooth ass beat. 4/5

2. Bring 2 - not bad. Bilal ain't a bad singer. 3/5

3. Blow My Buzz -  1 of my fav. d12 tracks. almost everyone is dope on it. 4/5

4. Benefit of the doubt - I was feelin both truth hurts & shaunta. too bad dre did shit with them. 3/5

5. bad intentions - everything is pefect on here. beat is a monster, knoc is amazing on the hook, and dre kills it. 5/5

6. get fucked up with me -  I don't smoke, but even I love this track. X is dope on it. 4/5

7. my high - not bad r & b track. Yero is decent (too bad all we heard from him after this was on that knoc track). 3.5/5

8. holla - i didn't like it as much as everyone else on here. was alright. 3.5/5

9. bubba talk - fuck this song. 1/5

10. good lovin - i love shaunta's style. pretty good track. 3/5

11. riding high - dope ass summer track.  never heard of these 2 guys before this track and nor did I hear of them after it, but it was a nice cut. 3.5/5

12. Gotta Get Dis Money - like someone said, hook is annoying as fuck. 2.5/5

13. don't talk shit - pretty avg. Was feelin it for a while, then just stopped fuckin' with it. 3/5

14. everytime - alright. this chick ain't bad, don't mind hearing her on some westcoast shit. 3/5

15. str8 west coast - classic fuckin track. perfect example of why knoc was hyped up. dre brought a classic beat, and lyrically knoc KILLED it.  5/5

16. No - pretty bad. 1.5/5

17. The Wash - was alright. on the blvd. was better. 3.5/5

All in all, 1 of my fav. sdtks ever. Pretty consistent, with a few dope songs here & there.

The soundtrack is alright. I can't listen to it front to back, and apparently no one else can, but there are some cool tracks.

On The Blvd. - Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg
Blow My Buzz - D12
Bad Intentions - Dr. Dre featuring Knoc-Turn'al
My High - Yero
Riding High - Daks featuring R.C.
Gotta Get Dis Money - Soopafly
Str8 West Coast - Knoc-Turn'al
The Wash - Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg

I guess I like more tracks than I thought. A couple of them don't sound as good as they used to, but they're cool for nostalgic reasons.
AKA: bdjac, Da Bears, Fonksta, Return Of Da Bears, Da Supa Bears, Da Bulls, Jake

I quite like this soundtrack. I don't see why people would 'listen to it and then throw it away'. The only tracks I don't like are the one by OX and the one by Joe Beast. The rest of them is decent to good, if you ask me.

I guess at this board it falls in the category of releases that get undue hate just because they aren't what people expected or wanted them to be.
