« on: October 28, 2001, 08:36:35 AM »
WELL...I"VE DONE SOME THINKIN LATELY....and as you remeber tha album waz full of westcoast pedestrian rappaz....some at that time .....befo 2001 (somethin like "97-"99).....most if not all westcoast  shitz failed to aproach tha mainstream.....
DRE.....COuld fill up tha album wit only tha preformances from.....Em,snoop, may be X.....DAT waz pretty much pedestrian at tha time (from tha mainstreams view)....but tha poteNSial waz visable......all others were mostly shadowes and ghosts of  tha yet unresurected westcoast rap.....don forget itz tha maistreamZ veiw....all bout tha salez veiw ...so don mix shit up....

to make shit short.....do yall think dat dre"z fillin up tha album wit all these westcoast rappaz waz comin out of some kinda, how should i put it (lol  ;D), westcoast patriotism.....(WHILE PREDICTIN HIZ ALBUMZ SUCSESS)???

spit opz....

I think I getcha...

Ya mean Dre was trying to bring the West to the frontlines with some hungry/new West Coast MC's like Knoc-turn'al, 6-2 & Hittman to help show fuckerz what's up.  Dre did the same with "The Chonic"...guests were all reppin wc...same for 2001 except Eminem and Mary J.  Everyone's awake now.

another thing... 2001 gave a lot of people a cash injection for the new to the game this gave them a recognition and publicity worth millions, and gave them a foundation to build upon.

Yeah, I Definately Think That's What Dre Was Doing, And With Eminem, He Pretty Much Made Him Westcoast, Ya Know.

Dre Was Tryna Do the Same Thing He Did With The Chronic, Get Some New Peeps Together, Bang Out A Classic With People Tradin' Lines All Over It.  It Would Have Been Better If They'd Actually Traded Lines Instead Of Verses, Though.  Kinda Like "Fuck You" And "Lightspeed", They Trade Lines In Those Pretty Good.

Remember Like "Serial Killaz" And Stuff, "Niggaz And Bitches' Where They Would FLow All Over Each Other? That's Tight, We need More Of That.

"The Chronic" Introduced:

Snoop
Kurupt
Daz
Nate Dogg
Warren G
RBX
Rage
Jewell

"2001" Introduced:

Hittman
Knoc-Turnal
Devin the Dude
Ms Roq
Mel Man
Xzibit (Kinda, becsaue he was mainly introduced in "B Please")

Now when I say intoruced, I dont mean introduced to the rap game, but I mean introduced to mainstream, so as you can see, Dre tried to repeat the shit he did on "The Chronic" and it worked...

It also introduced Eminem, whose SSLP came out on the back of Forgot About Dre(and My Name Is, but Forgot came first).

yea...he introduced pipz to tha mainstream and shit....but what bout pipz like kurupt or ren....and a coupla mo pipz......they waz laready known....no should of been already known (they waznt cauze they didnt touch tha mainstream enough...so only  heads like us remebered them).......so he didnt only come to bring new pipz he also came....may be out of some kinda westcoast patriotism as i said befo, to bring back tha west as pipz remebered it till 96"...he could jus" close  tha album up at 13 ...14 trackz....and not put all this half known-unknown pipz in it.....

....as he said on dat x track "you know": "resurect tha west..."
